I have been using NSI for years and have always used the No. 8 Grand Round Kolinsky brush. Recently I have been shopping about looking for a new brush. I saw CND do a Master series pro-styler brush costing £**.**!!!! Also, the Entity brush comes in at almost £**!!! My NSI one cost me £**.**

So, in everyones opinion...what do you think of these more expensive brushes?? Worth the investment or just over-priced??

I'd also be curious to know what brushes everyone uses for doing tip & acrylic overlay???

xxxxx

I have a CND Pro Styler with the inter-changeable heads. It has been a great investment. I have tried other brushes but I find the Pro Styler the best.

You can purchase Pro Stylers (without the interchangeable heads) cheaper. Don't know the cost.

Do a search on 'brushes' and you'll get loads of info.

The Master Series Pro Styler is not as expensive as you quote - we're not supposed to discuss trade prices on here but the advantage of the MS brush is that when you need a new brush all you need to buy is a new brush head which are nearly a third of the cost of the complete brush. So like Christine said it's an investment.

The non-MS Pro Styler is almost half the cost of the MS brush but obviously you need to buy a complete new brush each time...... It's more expensive than the NSI brush you quoted above but nowhere near the cost of the other 2!

I've only ever used CND brushes and IMO they are great. I have used the Pro Styler (and still do sometimes) but I love my Ultra Sculptor which is bigger....

The right brush, is the one that works for you.
I like a number 8 crimped, I like it to have a fair bit of strength in its belly so that I can push my acrylic around when I'm sculpting. currently I use the Young nails one that has the removable handle, it comes of and slots over the bristles, very useful when mobile but I have found its not as strong as the NSI one.
Whilst at excel I will either buy another NSI number 8 or go for the new NSI one or I might go for the Ezflow one. I am no longer mobile so thats not a factor any more just what I've already said.

My master series pro styler is WORTH EVERY PENNY and the replacement heads only work out a little bit more than your regular brush - well worth the initial investment - it transformed my work x

I use all the CND brushes but the Prostyler MS brush and the Ultra Sculptor (the BIG brush for big grown up nail techs ) are my favourites.

I find the interchangeable brush heads on the Master Series brush you mentioned very economical especially as I have several different ones for different liquids and seperate ones for coloured powders and glitters etc.

Nothing more annoying than to find a piece of glitter in the middle of an enhancement where you do not want to see it because you've used the same brush for normal and glitter powders...........!! :irked:.

I LOVE my CND masterseries brushes. I especially like that the handles never get that "gooey" feeling that the crystal touch brushes get if you happen to et any liquid on the handle. Unfortunately, if you will check your 2008 pricelists the Masterseries brushes are now discontinued. There are still some brushes and a few replacement heads out there in your distributor's stock but that is all. I was terribly disappointed when I found out and just disappointed that the regular boomerang buffers will be gone too. Hopefully, since they are taking something away it will mean they have something even better on the horizon.

I don't know if things are different in the US and UK but the Master Series brushes are in the current Sweet Squared catalogue and when I ordered a replacement head recently there was no mention of them being discountinued......

Yup, Vetty's right - pro styler master series still going strong over here! Good job because its my brush of choice.

I am glad to hear that it is still available somewhere. I was really bummed about it when I saw that it was being discontinued in the new price list. I purchased several to last me a few years because I really do LOVE that brush. I even confirmed it with CND just to be sure. I also stocked up on the regular boomerang boards. Have those been discontinued there in the UK like they have been here? You can still find them in distribuor stock but there won't be anymore after that. It was also one of my favorite abrasives. I was told really it was done away with due to sales. BTW, sorry about the typos in my last post. I just got a new notebook and it is not as easy to type on as my desktop. I am sure I will get used to it.

Ah, no it's the 1.0.0 - didn't know there was a new one...... Might have to ring for a copy if there's a newer one!!

I'm sure I read somewhere that Samantha said the new ones were delivered last friday!!??

Hopefully we will all be getting one soon, this should show if any lines have been discontinued.
