Hiya

I am rebranding my salon, and wanting to also change the skincare brand, we currently use EVe Taylor, and to be honest, it doesn't attract much attention and don't think many people have heard of it. As I have recently taken over the salon, I contacted Eve Taylor to ask for product training, but they would not provide free training, which I wasn't pleased about! Also, I think that it looks a bit dated?!

SO am looking for a new brand that can do everything and a decent start up cost? I am interested in intensive facials including peels, microdermabrasion etc. But not fussed on having a machines as can imagine they are very expensive.

I know that there are loads of different brands out there, and have started looking, even had a couple demos done on me, but both brands had very expensive opening orders (Dermaquest and RegimA).

I like lovely smelling ones too, and a brand that looks modern and cool! Though heard bad things about Dermalogica.. what about Guinot? Babor? Decleor? Monu?

Any suggestions?!

Thanks x

Other than being Dermalogica trained I haven't used others you mention. I now have Serene Professional range and wouldn't change a thing. It isn't a nice smelling range because it contains no fragrance what so ever and every product they have is 20 ingredients or less in order for it to penetrate better.
In my honest opinion, no good training comes free. Every skin care course I have ever attended has been paid for, either by my employer or out of my pocket. I wouldn't expect great education without a token fee at least.

I would avoid dermalogica like the plague as in my opinion they are overated overpriced c**p and i have never seen clients get results from it. Declor is popular on here although i have never tried them. I also think guinot is outdated as a brand.

Environ and medik8 get good reviews on here and fab training and elemis is also a option as nice products and training there too. I personally like glo therapeutics as lovely products incredible training and great results

I distribute Skin For Life Skin care in the UK. We don't have opening orders, and have lots of happy clients who are thrilled with the range. Sometimes the brands that many haven't heard of can be good because once you convert your clients to it, they won't be spoilt for choice on other salons nearby to get the product. It's a shame that its the brands who have the biggest ad/marketing budgets that tend to get the most business…but such is life. lol

All the best with the rebranding :)

What about tibby Olivier ladies? I use their faith lift system and love it.

I have been using Image Skin Care available from Skin Geeks Uk they do a variety of skin peels to suit different skin probs & home care fantastic effective products I have had great results, great training! I also stock environ another good choice! Hope this is helpful :)

If you don't want a machine Environ will not be the range for you. They won't let you have the products without the machine and this comes with a hefty price tag of 5k for your opening order. Is it worth it? Hell yeah!

Hi everyone, thanks for the advice. Have looked into all of the mentioned brands. I'm interested in image skincare, as it looks very professional and has good image! Haha. Does Image have a big opening order?

Isn't that just a face mask ( Faith Lift ) & no one has ever heard of it in this area??

Hi there, I hope you don't mind but I'd love to chat to you about our new face and body brand Katherine Daniels Cosmetic. Here's a little bit more about the brand.

It was designed by two skincare specialists, specifically for British salons to treat the most common skin types and conditions, whilst taking into consideration client lifestyle, environment and our climate.

Not only are the products and treatments affordable for your clients (with fab efficacy results), but we offer flexible launch deals with a great margin on retail products.

You can see some testimonials from some of our salons on our blog if you want to know more.

I second Image Skincare - Recently brought it into the Salon i am in and once we have the 2nd stage of training done i know it will fly. Start up is about 2k professional and retail - it is quite basic but you can build on it and go from there. I would definitely suggest you contact the rep and see what they say. Really result driven products that are affordable and that work as far as i can see. It also gets great coverage online and is cropping up everywhere. hth

I have tried a lot of skincare on this thread and especially dermalogica fills me with dread! As a clinic specialising in skin care with dermatology we have tried and tested many many skin care ranges and the best hands down for all skin types is Dermaquest the most sensitive homecare to effective resurfacing peels it has everything, it is our biggest seller and I can't rave about it enough! I have a super sensitive skin, it goes red sore and comes out in hives with everything I use except Dermaquest products for sensitive skin.
Thier reps are fantastic, we see her quite frequently and the training is 2nd to none!

Hi I use to use Eve Taylor and I was like you- no one had heard of it so I rarely did a facial and never sold one product. I changed to Dermalogica this year and havent looked back. I can only say that from my experience they have been brilliant with me. I retail a lot of products a week and have had great results. I know its not favoured by a lot of people on here but in my experience its been fantastic x
