Hi all, i've done 2 courses on gel but both tutors apply gel different the first said to put it on zone 2 first & spread it over zone 3 first down to zone 1. The other said apply it to zone 3 first patting it in then apply more to zone 2 & then 1.
Just wondering which one is right or if ones better also seem to be getting more bubbles with the 2nd way.
Any ideas on how to stop getting the bubbles much appreciated

there are no rules...you do what works best for you and as your getting bubbles doing it the second way i would stick with the first way.

I apply a bead of gel in zone 2 and gently drag some of the gel from the edges of that bead to zone 3 and taper down over the free edge....so leaving the bulk of the gel in zone 2.

I apply a line of gel from the eponychium to the free edge right down the centre of the nail.

Then I tease the product from the centre to the sides etc leaving the bulk in a spine or a vertical apex. This produces a very strong, durable nail with a beautiful shape.

Very little finishing to do as well which is always cool.

So you see, there are many many ways to get to the same end. Some ways are more efficient than others and require less faffing about with the gel which helps the old bubble situation.

Try a few different techniques and see what you do best.

Thank you both, is there anyway to prevent bubbles?

Don't ever stir your gel.

Scoop up your gel bead gently without introducing air into it.

Apply in one bead or line as I described and remember that less is more with gel. IOW not too much moving around.

If you see a bubble then use the point of your brush to stab it and this usually pops it.

No patting with gel, it will create bubbles.Gently tease your gel and guide it where you watn it to be with your brush, like you are frosting a cake
