Hi All

I was speaking to a therapist the other day who told me that bikini line waxing is supposed to be getting banned by the government??! She said something about it costing the NHS too much or something.

I haven't heard anything about this and have asked a few other people i know who haven't heard anything either. Just wondered if anyone knows anything about this or if its just a load of old cobblers???

Thanks
Nik

Its not April Fool's Day until Wednesday lol!!

Sorry Nik I am not making fun of you flower, honestly .. its just the ludicrously of what your friend has heard. I could be wrong but I am sure she must have misunderstood. There again, there are some bizarre laws being passed these days sigh!

oops looks like the same story as in the other links. tho explains a little more into why the 2 women were hospitalised.

hi all. somebody told me about this ages ago, its in new jersey, but all the salon owners went mad about lost wages, and they threw it out of court
look at all the injurys in football, they wont be banning that in a hurry
only in america xx

A bikini wax done with non strip wax will not cause harm and a fraction of the pain that strip wax can cause (when in the wrong hands).

It's not just about during the waxing treatment, it's after. Clients report that there is no soreness after when they've been waxed with non strip wax and no skin lifted.

NOT SURE IF THIS IS THE SAME FOR ALL BRANDS OF HOT/NON STRIP WAX SO CHECK OUT YOUR CHOSEN BRAND. xxx

i read this on internet but it was a usa article it never got passed so dont worry. how on earth can they try make some thing illegal like that its been practiced for years. look at number of cients who have it done

I was just reading the second link..... That woman did not end up in the hospital because she had an unhygenic braz wax.... she ended up in the hospital because she has untreated type 1 diabetes. So most of the blame should fall on her. Good heavens, I hate all the fear mongoring.

There was a recent story from Australia with the headlines 'Lady gets MRSA bug from eyebrow wax'. I knew it was a load of old tosh and I checked it out with a top doc friend and his reply was 'Load of rubbish'. xxx

Isn't it amazing what the media do??? Cause panic.

I for one think Brazillians are wonderful, clean and just very hygenic.

:lol::lol::lol::lol:

Gee I'm from Australia, and I didn't even hear of this one. It is amazing what people will do, including media.......

I too think is a load of crap. :)

What a mess and as usual the media blows it out of proportion! Of course a lot of hurt and injuries can be caused by wax that is not applied properly / too hot or by untrained staff but isnt that what they should be looking at to make sure that therapists who perform certain treatments have really been trained accordingly to be able to do these treatments without causing any damage?
