Hi all - i have done all my waxing assessments apart from bikini waxing. My mum is coming to the salon tonight for me & i have only seen one demonstration by our tutor which was last November! We have to be assessed using strip wax. Can anyone remind me step by step what to do? I know to apply in direction of the hair growth & trim hair if required. But i cannot remember which way to start - top or bottom? Also i know that you should not apply wax across a particular muscle at the top of the leg - again can anyone remind me where this is? Last question getting my mum to hold one side taught i will pull the skin taught at the other side - do you pull the strip in the same manner as leg waxing - short, sharp and back rather than up? I'm so nervous but need to do it as part of my assessment - just don't want to bruise or tear my mums skin! Plus she's never had a bikini wax before.

Thanks - Rebecca x

Hi Rebecca. To have only seen it done once by your tutor many months ago is a disgrace, but not your fault.

Start removing the hair below, upwards. You should stretch the skin from below and don't hesitate as this will cause bruising. Good luck xx

I know it's a complete sham of a course. I've complained loads & finally got my money back! I will be doing my level 3 somewhere else! I would love to come to one of your classes Kim, but not sure when you are back up north. I know your in Scotland, but are you doing anything nearer to West Yorkshire? I would love to do a complete specialist course & move onto intimate waxing eventually. It's complete madness that we are getting assessed for things we've only been shown once - it's the same with facials & eyelash tint & perming! I am writing a further letter of complaint to the college as they are signing some students off that i don't feel are competent either - would anyone want them in their salon? I doubt it. I'm sure i'll be ok at the bikini wax - i'll apply in short strips as you've said & make sure i pull taught & quick removal (also got my mum to trim to ensure there's not too much hair there - lol ;)

Email me about my courses as I only put a few of my courses on the EVENTS calendar on here as I train all of the time.

Good luck and great idea to get your mum to trim xx
