Let us know how you get on tomorrow. I was all set a couple of weeks ago to book onto a course today, however, got a little concerned following one of the previous posts.

I'd like to see more 'before and after' pics of BDB showing what's possible, however, there're not really many. There's a really good BDB lady in London, however, she doesn't wax, she threads instead, so not sure it's truly BDB - she really is that good.

I will let you know.

I was a bit concerned about the exclusivity thing as Howard said on here they offered it but when I asked Helen said they never, as its all about brand awareness and as a company they couldn't make a living from having salons that weren't buying the products. Its a bit naughty what they done with the previous poster when they did tell her thats what they would offer and went back on it but I bought into it in the full knowledge that I wouldn't be granted it.

Tbh I've never heard of it round here but there are plenty of HD brows (I'm from Liverpool, home of the scouse brow so obv brows are a big thing round here lol) so I wanted to do something different and don't like the idea of threading so thats what sold it to me, also the difference in the price from HD brows

xx

The main issue was the change in information a couple of times. I can completely understand not being able to offer exclusivity, however, had it not been mentioned, it would never have been a problem.

Also, price change - I was quoted one price and told that would include Keri helping me with tinting on the morning before the course, as I haven't done this, however, later Helen advises that she had been misinformed and that tinting and waxing is covered as an intro for a couple of hours prior to the course and it costs extra - although I've done waxing.

Somewhat disappointed, as I had high hopes for BDB. HD Brows do appear to be more organised with integrated communication - their presentation is superb, although I do still prefer the finished brow look of BDB and would really like to see more quality Befofre and After pics.

I think I'll hold off making a choice whilst I'm still unsure.

The finish of the brow is down to you and your client to discuss because they are the one who wears the brow...
Brow design companies will give you the tools and techniques to create an advanced more precise and beautiful full brow, salon brochures and client info, the rest is up to your consultation with your clients, listen to what they are looking for.
Just make sure you choose a reputable company to invest your money with in the correct training, something said to maybe choosing a company that is already established and has a great reputation for looking after its customers. Underhanded techniques and false promises, misleading information is a costly and upsetting experience, I wouldn't wish this on anyone.

Just a quick update for anyone who is still undecided: i have been a qualified therapist for 10years, but found the BDB course great! Picked up some great tips and new techniques, and love the results on my clients! BDB were unheard of in my area until we started offering them, now everyone wants them- there are 9 HD salons in my area already & the training is soooo expensive! Lots of our clients hate threading aswell or are scared of HD's being too severe (i realise this is down to the therapist and not HD, but clients do not). Most of my time in salon is spent doing BDB's it's the best business decision I have made. I am self employed so paid for training myself and made my money back so quickly by posting before & after pics on our Facebook page and every1 wanted Billion dollar brows! We also sell the pencils and powders without trying! We allow 45 mins per treatment and all of our clients comment on how much of a pamper this treatment is compared to a tint and wax :)

I would like to say how impressed I am with BDB.Of course I've been shaping and tinting brows for years and really couldn't see the point in doing anymore training but in the same way as we have the HD trained therapists saying it takes shaping an eyebrow to another level BDB does as well.

I have now lost all my eyebrow clients to my daughter :eek:who trained a few weeks back. They really are just so much better than what I have ever produced and I don't mind admitting it.

The brow buddy tool is the same concept as the old fashioned way I learnt but we had a pencil where you line up nose, corner of eye etc etc and make lines and doing it this way, going back to basics it really gets the right shape brow for the face.I have been really impressed with the brows she has been producing and so are her clients as she is now getting all her returns,as well as a lot of new clients who have seen their friends brows.

I bought her the course as an early christmas present and she is easily in profit already.Having been a long time sceptic of these specialist brow courses like HD and BDB I can see they really are worth doing.

Thanks Gillian, great pics. I've sent a message through the website to find out more about training. I do LVL lashes and really want to do brows as well but can't really afford to train with HD at the moment.

Apart from the price an advantage for her was that you don't have to learn threading. It was something she had tried and really didn't like doing it and not something she wants to learn.

Blimey, what a read this thread was... it started off well, then sent me almost to sleep in the middle when the unhelpful slating, comparing to nail companies and battle of "whose been in the business longest" started and then there was some useful constructive criticism (always necessary to help make decisions) and finally some useful info on what it involves and some pictures!!
All in all, I don't think £399+VAT is at all expensive for training and as someone else mentioned, there's plenty room on the market for different nail companies, tanning brands, lash brands etc etc, so why not brows?!? I for one am now very interested in this and will be investigating further... :)

I think people have been seeing it as a knock off of HD but it has actually been established in the states for a good many years.
The uk company have literally just had their second birthday this week and all the pricing and policy about exclusivity and any other teething problems are all sorted out by now.
We were told no there is no exclusivity, but we have the actual training salon and trainer only about 12 miles away and a few salons Inbetween that do it and we are still getting 3 to 4 clients a day every day having them.

I have just trained with Kerie Hoy this week. It is a great system and the lack of threading was also a bonus for me. Luckily here in Norfolk 18 of us got the opportunity to do this master class with the UK owner. She is fantastic to work with and very knowledgeable of her products and even though I am trained in brows already managed to pick up several tips. If you live in Norfolk, Suffolk or even Lincolnshire look out for more classes coming to The Professional Beauty Academy in Norwich after Christmas.

I trained in Billion Dollar Brows about a month ago and got over 20 bookings in my first week and have had repeat bookings. The course is great and I would deffinately recommend it for anyone looking at adding to there treatment list. I have lots of before and after pics on my facebook page under gemma wright spray tanning.

I'm probably going to book onto this next week, going to speak to Helen when she back on Monday. In the meantime I was wondering how much people charge for the BDB treatment? I know most people charge around £25 for HD in my area so not sure how this compares? Thanks Xx
