Hi all

I've been using Bio since October last year and most of my clients are fine but i keep getting customers who's just lift. Also the first set i do seems to be great and last and when they come back to have them removed and re-applied they seem to have problems with them. When i remove them i do their cuticles etc... and then make sure they wash their hands thoroughly and i use the sanitize. Has anyone found any customers that just can't wear them? I get fed up of some clients cos i know most of my clients are fine it's the odd ones that have problems and when you ask if they've followed the aftercare advice they always say they have. Can any Bio geeks help me.

May be its something they are using, are they all using Bio aftercare products,i.e:cuticle oil, handcream etc

Well not sure really they are aware that anything they use can affect them. The thing is they are never totally honest are they and then i feel like its my work but surely if it was my work then everyone would be the same. I have ladies who go over 3 weeks before they have them re-done.

I have used Bio and its pretty good at not lifting and with not too much attention to prep....but i did have the odd few that didn't get on with Bio and I found those who wear rubber gloves alot were affected.

Oh really thats interesting i always tell them to wear gloves however one of my ladies that goes over 3 weeks swears by gloves. Aaargh its driving me mad not knowing why some are fantastic and others struggle although it is a small amount of clients. I just hate it when they have problems cos they blame the technician!!

gloves are great for keeping nails clean and protecting from chemicals...(and your skin) but when worn for a long time the sweaty atmosphere can cause lifting in soft gels. Gloves also wont do anything to prevent breakages....makes me laugh that one...client comes with broken nails and goes..."i had me gloves on"...

If 3 out a 10 of your clients are having a problem then it aint down to you.Id try and get to the bottom of it with them.
I agree about the rubber gloves,ok wearing them ocasionally to do a bit of washing up,but when its for a few hours,I know coz I used to wear Bio myself and do domestic cleaning part time,my left hand was fine, but my right hand which was in the glove lifted all the time.
Id also get to the bottom to what products they use on their hands, I was told in my Bio training ,Vaseline intensive care and Avon make Bio lift, and on your aftercare sheet state this and advise them to buy Bio aftercare products.
Goodluck.

Ha, ha yeah i've heard that one too. Thanks for that i'll inform clients a little bit more about gloves every little bit of info helps.

Thanks

Thanks for that Debbie. I agree i don't think its me but it does get you down. I also found out that a client had been using the antibacterial gel that they use in hospitals and that ruins them. So that one i solved. I'm sure i'll get to the bottom of it. Thanks again.

also i have found that nivea products affect the gels!

Hope that helps

So it looks like most things affect bio. They did say in the training that they don't gaurantee any other products!

Some clients are priceless...

'Do you use cleaning products without gloves?'

'No, I dont use any cleaning products'

'Okay then what do you use to clean the kitchen units down?'

'just them wipes' :eek::eek::eek:

'that's why your bio gel is lifting'

Such denial is quite funny. You have to really question them to get to the problem.

I also find strong alcohol based hair products can cause problem.

Just say to them - the effects of the products won't be seen till a day later and you will just see some bubbling to the sides or free edge. That is exposure to chemical based products.

They do NOT lift on their own. A pair of rubber gloves will save them money.

To be honest its why i love non soak off gels...(buff off)

I have best of both worlds too.

Bio for the good clients

Buff off for the naughtier ones.

Perfect balance.

Yeah that might be a good idea to get some other gel although then you get but i don't want it to ruin my nails and Bio is better blah, blah. We just can't win. Thanks everyone for your help.

Thats where you come in and blow there socks off with your knowledge and inform them of the facts....NO products ruin nails...bad nail techs and clients that pick/bite/bash ruin nails.

Well I wish you'd come and talk to mine - they aren't taking any notice of me:lol:

i found if you done buff all the shine of the excuetive base coat thgat causes lifting, so in the salon i work it we dont use and have hardly any lifting. also one of my clients found if yo keep the bios in hot water i.e. a bath that promotes lifting. at the end of the day it is a soft gel, and i think some clients think cos it an overlay. its indestructable. xx their natural nails wont with stand such stuff.

xxx p.s. soz got on my soap box abit then ha ha

ha ha i was typing so fast and getting on my soap box i made loads of spelling mistakes ha ha. im abit hungover too though that doesnt help x

Just to add...
Bio also doesn't like Windex.
I have one client who just cannot wear Bio - as mentioned, a buff off works well for her. She has her hands in water and uses cleaners a lot.
