Hi,

I am really new to this industry and have my first client booked in for June 8th. She is getting married and has asked me to do her a luxury manicure on the morning of the wedding. Aaaarggh!!! Im nervous but guess Im bound to be with it been my first client and there is loads of pressure for them to look perfect for the wedding pictures. I went round earlier today so I could explain the products I will be using, Ive chosen the Creative Spa Manicure range as I think it leaves the hands looking gorgeous and radiant and Ive helped her choose a matching color for her dress.

I really want it to be a special treatment for her and was hoping all you experienced nail techs could give me some tips on how to make the experience that little bit more memorable and stand out from any other manicure she has had.

Thank You in advance.xxxx

are you going to her home or is she coming to you?

could you have some scented candles on, and play some lovely music to relax her,

how much time do you have ? warm mitts are nice touch and extra time spent massaging, then choose some lovely colours and do some nice bridal nail art, which compliments the theme?

but make sure she knows this is all part of the bridal package you are charging her for, i dont mean to sound harsh or money grabbing, but if you do all this and she mentions it to someone, theyll all be expecting the same, decide on the etxras, and put together a bridal package, then its a set fee for this service hun,

hths xxxxx

Ive got to do my first bride, and four bridesmades week Friday, all french manicures!!!poopin it!!!

Think I would just practise, practise, practise until you could do a french manicure blindfolded! :green:

I have to admit that french manicures are *NOT* my strong point at the mo. Particulary when there's b*gger all free edge to paint!

By the way... what are your plans for stopping the bride fidgeting after you have polished her? Nothing worse than a smudge!!!!

Would it be wise to ask the bride to consider having this done on the day before the wedding? Wedding mornings are hectic and this will just add to the stress levels of you and the bride, and more importantly she will want to leave loads of time to make sure her enamel is well and truly dry, a luxury that she may not have on the morning of the wedding.

If she insists on the morning of the wedding, start as early as you are able, but make sure you tell her that her nails will only be touch dry for at least 2 hours!

Good luck

:green:Mine has booked in for the day before,so hopefully she ll be relaxing for a few hours after!

Good idea, mate! I think it'd be helluva stressful trying to do it on the day of the wedding - and trying to stop the bride from touching anything so that she won't smudge her polish! :irked:

I think ideally you don't want them doing anything more with their hands than perhaps picking up a glass of wine! :green:

Oooh but that would be so unfair infront of me!!

Hi i have done a few brides at my house not in the salon and i usually put a little plain gem on the wedding finger it looks brill in photos and adds a bit of sparkle!! i usually do a french polish, and when i do there makeup i usually get a little bag with a tie ribbon and put confetti and a lip gloss in that i use on the day with compliments. just another idea if you ever do a makeup! xx

All went fine in the end ,the bride actually gave me a fiver tip,the mother was a bit of a fussy old fart I pity the girl thats going to do her makeup today:lol:,but the other girls were great. It was a challenge though getting all those whites perfect I had such a shakey hand, but they all seemed happy,so so was I.
