Hi geeks, hoping for some pointers here, lol!
I have been busy practising with my Brisa pink and whites, and recently did a nail of mine. I noticed after i finished that the white is a little bit patchy, as if some of the white is a tad grey. (my hubby thinks i am mad as its barely noticable, but i like PERFECT) Now is this because i have over buffed, or not buffed enough? Or some other reason entirely? I have put a pic in my album, (sorry, not sure how to add to the thread) so would be really grateful if you lovely geeks could take a look. Sadly, my chubby little fingers have very short nail beds, and as I havent custom blended yet, i had to move the white down to my white. I would prefer it nearer the free edge, but hey, had to work with what iv got, lol! Any comments greatfully received xx Oh and there are LOTS of other things wrong i know, (tiny air bubble in white etc) so please fee free to comment xx

I think I see where you mean, on the smile line right? (please say yes LOL)

It could be that you didn't apply the white evenly, perhaps when you were placing the white you didn't move it evenly... either way I think you've done a great job, but being picky with our work is good, it helps us improve :wink2:

Thanks for looking sandi x. Yes the "greying" in on the smile line, and also the left corner, as you look at pic, looks "whiter" than the rest? I also think the smile is blurred, but there is prob a bit of a shadow as i tried to get the white just a snitch above the natural smile. (I am def a prime candidate for a custome blend, lol!)

I had to peer really hard to find the faults:lol: I agree that the 'shadow' on the smile line is trying to get a 'snitch' above - one of the coverage gels will sort that out. Using the tip of the brush on bubbles will burst them.

But that is just being really picky :lol::lol:

Thank you adele x. Picky is goooood! I like picky, lol. I cant wait to try the coverage gels, very exciting!

Wich white are you using? The builder white or the paint on white?

Hiya,

I know exactly what you are talking about, the dreaded shadow...:-/ I struggle big time with avoiding this. I even had shadows at my winning nails in London! The only way to avoid it is to build the white so you don't get any clear over it. Ehm.. did that make sense? It's the clear gel which makes the shadow.

Oh ok, you mean the final layer, which is clear, that i put on could be making my shadows? How would I get round this? Sorry, im such a novice:green:

This what i do. I do do the bonding layer, thin as polish, apply the white tho free edge the thickness i want the nail to be, then apply the clear or pink up to white, then just lightly pull a tiny bit over the white (like painting polish again). Did i make sense?

You made perfect sense, thank you for the tips!
