Hi All...

I will be completing my Sienna X spray tan training on the 22nd March.

I am hoping to tan from home and also offer a mobile service.

I have a full time day job so I will only be tanning 2-3 people per evening and at weekends.

I have no expreience in the beauty industry as of yet and although i really hope that my mobile business will be a success, i cant be sure.

Therefore, I am a bit dubious about spending out a lot of money to get myself up and running just incase things do not work out.

Sienna x sell a starter kit that costs £195 with a small maching that allows 2-3 tans per day. This is called a micro mist machine.

I was wondering if anyone has any experience of using on of these machines or if anyone can advise me on what to by.

I have expressed my concerns to sienna x and they have assured me that this machine will be ideal for me. I just wanted some feed back from other sienna x tanners if posiible?

Thanks

Terri

I don't have any advice re the sienna x machine, I
just wanted to wish you all the best. It's natural and
very healthy to be worried about something new, but
what you need to remember is that with passion drive
and commitment and some experience, you will do well. It's always tough when starting out but if you plan ahead, Market well and make sure you get in
front of your target audience, you'll be fine!

Best of luck
tigi

Hiya

I have had experience of that machine and I really didn't like it. I found it very difficult to spray evenly with and it nearly put me off. Luckily I spoke to a geek or two and they advised me to get the T200 instead which, although it ended up costing me much more money, I now love spray tanning. I would pay the additional money upfront now and have a good experience, instead of pay for two machines.

Just my opinion but I wish someone could have advised me before I payed twice.

Good luck with your decision.

Thanks for your advice.

I was a bit worried as the machine only looks tiny!

I will have a think!! xx

hi. i use sienna. id say dont buy your spray machine until you have done your training. you will get to use the machines on training day and see which one you like better. the sienna staff are great help and support so you can trust there advice. i did and bought the machine they reccomended which has been fab. i cant remember which model it is but im salon based so it could be different to the one they suggested for you.

Hi there,

I use Sienna X and my machine is the T200, we used this on the day training and it was fab, I purchased the business in a box for around £700 which gave me marketing supplies such as posters and flyers and also the pop up tent, all i needed to buy was towels for the client to stand on as the kit came with sticky feet, disposable briefs and hats. I got 3x tanning solutions, light, medium & dark, barrier cream and loads of samples to give to clients. All in all a great package. I would definately recommend. I work full time as well as doing hair extensions & spray tanning in the evenings and at weekends. I really do believe that you get back what you put in so good luck with it all!

I'm not sure about the machine as I have a compressor. I'm just wondering if you can only do this amount of tans with this machine per day then what would happen if you came to do a tanning party? Most tanning parties are usually 5 people plus. If you just offered to do 3 people then you would be loosing out x

Thank you for your replies.

I think i will look into buying a different machine now.

I am so excited about doing my training!

I have already spoken to the manager of my local sunbed shop, she others all beauty treatments except for spray tanning. She said she has loads of customers asking for a spray tan, so she will be happy to give them my leaflets once I am trained! That should be quite good!

I am really looking forward to getting started and I hope everything works out!! x

I love Sienna x and also purchased the package which included a maxi mist machine.

Have you declared your evening work as self employed?

No, I have'nt decalred anything yet, as I have'nt even completed my training yet?

I am glad you mention it though, how do I go about declaring it and is it something that I need to do if i am just doing a few tans per week? x

im not too sure TBH I tried calling the tax office today...

Does anyone else know the answer to this?
