Maybe try to target more affluent areas, even if it means you have to travel a little more?

Rather than the budget end of the Market

The nearest affluent area is St Andrews, I don't drive yet so travelling is not an option! I will hand out business cards to more 'middle class' shops etc.. Desperate now! xx

Very sorry to just jump in but how are you do you see your clients then? Do you still go to them even though you can't drive? Just curious :) hope you get some clients soon

If most of your prospective clients are looking for a mobile service, I think I would have paid for driving lessons then took my hair extension course.

If you are struggling to get clients it is only going to be harder at the minute if you dont drive. This isnt meant as a dig in any way, it is great that you are young and looking to start your own business, but we see this so often on ur courses - a young girl is dropped off by a family member or boyfriend yet they are wanting to start a mobile extension business

Another point is that there are so many mobile extensionists now that if it's between you and someone else they won't pay your expensive taxi fairs, I'd seriously consider either cracking on with driving lessons or make an Salon in your home however this will imply other insurances etc. x

I've been driving for 2 years and am sitting my 6th test in two weeks, I've spent about 2,000 on driving, it's not through lack of trying.

I've never said anything about being a mobile extensionist, I work from a home salon room.

Haha I've never stopped cracking with my driving lessons!
I have a salon at home, can't get clients in. My boyfriend drives and is willing to chauffeur me and still noone wants extensions x

Good luck with your driving test hun hopefully you will pass this time :)! On another note, i thought this forum was for professionals seeking advice and giving advice, just like the original poster wanted. However, theres alot of bitchiness/patronising going on, not really neccessary is it?x

That's brilliant if you have a home salon and like I said before good luck :)

Couldn't agree more!

Think some of the lovely ladies on here need to remember we were all born equal and noone is better than anyone else :)

Xxx

I've literally just qualified in fusion and microbond extensions, and I'm struggling to even get models for hair extensions at a very low price.

I live in an area where lots of girls do extensions for good prices, how can I make myself stand out to bring in the clients?i advertise on Facebook, gumtree and have business cards and fliers on the way, I don't know what else up do. No one in my area wants expensive high end extensions, they just want a cheap full head.

Help!! Even if I make back the training costs il be happy!!

Xxxx

i wish you all the luck as Scotland can be tough haha , i live in leith in Edinburgh and i see so many extensions offers but i never go for them as im a guy and i know how bitchy salons can be plus i never know prices even though i would save up for them , i think maybe get some business cards printed ? and leave them in salons or shop windows might get you more clients

From the information I've read from one of your previous posts you are only offering HALF a service....

.....You don't cut hair!

If you can't do that then you're not offering a complete service and you will not get as may clients.

I've had my fair share of extensions before and there is no way I'd go to someone who can't cut or blend them in.

I think this is where your problem is.

Yeah even though I know how to cut hair I only specialise in cutting and blending extensions and never cut just hair without extensions. But yeah I would never go to anyone that could not finish it off and blend them in. Even if that meant you practising and taking short courses.

Agreed. Cutting and blending is essential.
