Doing its bit for charity, Champneys Town and City Spas has announced it is to donate all proceeds from treatments and therapists' wages to the Pakistan floods appeal on Sunday 5 September.

The initiative aims to help fund Red Cross relief efforts, which are in operation across devastated areas of the country, following severe flooding which has killed more than a thousand people and left millions in need of food, clean water, healthcare and shelter.

Spa manager Gemma Fryer has been overwhelmed by the response from customers. "We really do feel this is an important cause and all the staff feel strongly about helping to raise funds for the people of Pakistan," she said, "hence the reason why the staff have been more than happy to donate their time for free for our charity day."

Regular customer Sandra Kilner has already booked in for her treatment at Champneys in Brighton on 5 September. "It is so important that UK businesses help to support this international problem," she commented. "I booked in straight away when I heard what Champneys were doing to support Pakistan."

Customers can also help by buying a raffle ticket for £1 - prizes include an overnight break at a Champneys Health Resort alongside treatments and gift sets from Champneys Town and City Spas.
