Hi

I finally persuaded a client to try something other than standard pink & white the other day.

Now I have a problem if she decides she wants to change next time during re-balance. How do I change colour without totally removing the gold? I didn't think to put clear underneath as it was during an infill so a translucent pink was underneath but bare natural nail in the cuticle area.

Any suggestions other than using an opaque pink?

you will have to file the gold of unfortunately
don't forget to put clear underneath next time

The only thing I can thingk of is file down a bit and then use a colour that would disguise the gold-opaque pink or a different colour.
Or, only other option is to soak off and start again I would say.
I will watch this thread to see what other geeks suggest.

If doing at infill time, would you do the infill in clear first and then put the colour over the entire nail as if a rebalance? How would I stop it from getting too bulky - thin it all down to start with?

I do wish this had been covered during training as I don't like experimenting too much on clients even when they say they don't mind.

Filing down the gold and then covering with a new colour is the only way i suppose. Do you hand file or use an e-file? Either way its a lot of work and time.

Use the same persuasive marketing skills and convince her to keep the gold when u rebalance and then jazz it up a bit with some fab nail art. You've got her out of the box now so keep her going!!

Easiest option is to soak off and start again. Now you know what your mistake was you would start right the next time by putting the clear underneath.

Good luck.

Thanks - I only hand file so it might be easier to start again. If I did go for full coverage pink over the top though, should I infill first with clear so that eventually she could return to translucent? It still takes me 2 hours to do a set at the moment anyway without the extra time soaking off :irked:

Please keep your fingers crossed that she decides she likes colour now that she's taken the plunge
