Hi guys,

I did my first chest wax last night and it was tough going. The client had previously shaved and really in all honestly he might have been better off waiting about 5 days more for the hair to grow a little longer. I did explain this to him but he was itchy and adement he wanted it done.
So we went ahead but it was really hard!

The hairs came out ok but he found it extremely painful. We did small patched as the hair growth direction was very random. I applied cleansed then applied oil as normal.

I struggles with the stomach area as well as it was very difficult to stretch the skin.

Can anyone give me some advise with this area?

thanks x

You can either place the clients hand where you need it to help you with the stretching if they have a lot of loose skin,
or if they don't have a lot of loose skin just get them to raise their arms above their head for you as this will stretch out the area a bit for you and make it easier for you to stretch the rest, hth

If the hairs all came out, then they were probably long enough. Three weeks growth after last shave is ideal. However, if the hairs were on the short side, I don't think that would have made it more painful for the client. Chest and abs are very painful - some say more painful than the scrotum, seriously. If you have non-strip wax, that is good for the abs when stretching is difficult. I also like non-strip for the bony centre of the chest as this is an area where the hair sometimes snaps.

Thanks Zo Zo. the hairs were really thick more like pubic hair really. I did wonder if hot wax would have been better. I have some but not trained in it so cant do that next time. Time to organise the training i guess.

If you are willing to learn something new my best discovery is the Sugar wax , the least painful , no harm done to the skin , it pulls the smallest hears . We are full booked at my salon , doing all tipes of sugarwaxing including brasilians . :)
