So I started getting these pains in the sides of my back when I was 16, they used to be like pulling stretching pains which I put down to growing & so did the doctors, well 6 years later the pains are worse than ever. As well as the stretching & pulling its now a sharp pain too, it starts up when I walk anywhere (as in like 5 metres!) and nothing helps,

I have tried everything. I have had kidney scans & nothing abnormal there so doctors seem to have stopped looking into it or caring, they have only investigated into it this one time in 6 years. I am starting to lose my mind & at 21 shouldnt be having to skip days /nights out because Its so hard to even stand up sometimes, please tell me I'm not the only one who has experienced this type of pain & someone knows how to treat it? :(

Have you ever been to a chiropractor, osteopath or physio it might be a good idea to see if there is anything wrong with your posture and bone alignment
Try and see one on recommendation
You should really keep on at the doctors they should be referring you for different investigations.you could probably do with an MRI scan

I havent actually, never been referred to one so I thought it didnt apply to me, the pain is definately on the inside however, so not like normal back pain, its very hard to explain what I mean! Thanks!

If you are in a GP practice with several doctors, ask for an appointment with one who specialises in this area, or at least one you haven't seen before.
If not, change GPs. You should not have to have your lifestyle curtailed when you are so young. I hope you improve x

Have changed gps twice & seen all tge docs in this medical centre, dont think they are taking me seriously because of my age, one of them said if I was 40 they would look into it quicker, so Im supposed to wait until Im 40 to be taken seriously! :( Thank you though x

I've re-read your first post again, and it confirms my first thoughts. You shouldn't be suffering like this at your age.

Go back and be polite but firm.
Or change practices. x

They will be sick of seeing me by tge time Im done! Thanks for your advice :) x

Don't give up, or feel too embarrassed to keep going back. (I'm blinking hopeless at doing this, but you really need to do as I say, not as I do!)

Alot of my clients have endometriosis and they describe it as pulling stabbing pains. google it, see if it fits your symptoms. xx
Do keep on at the Dr until they get you sorted, we have pain to tell us there is something wrong, they get paid alot of money to tell us what is causing the pain and how to make it better xx

They suspected this was it and all my symptoms fit it down to a t but one doctor says it's not, I have mentioned it a few times to them but Its supposed to take about 7 years to diagnose, just one more year to go if thats the case! Thank you for replying :) xx

I'm sure they can only fully diagnose endometriosis from a laparoscopy.Maybe ask your dr for a referral to a gynaecologist. Its not something that should be left.

Yeah they think ibs, also small hiatal hernia & acid reflux. Wrote off! I would feel more relieved if they were connected I think .

I thought you would say IBS. I know this will sound mad but do some reading on a gluten free diet. Gluten intolerance is linked to lots of odd symptoms. I hadnt eaten wheat for years because of IBS but few years ago i started with aching joints and i ached inside, i was checked for all ladies problems, all came back negative. I read loads of resent research and decided to try gluten free diet.... within a week my joint ache was gone and still hasnt returned, my eczema which i had since i was 12 is now almost gone, my inside problems have gone, iv never had another water infection, my headaches gone...... the list goes on, iv never felt better.
You dont have to be celiac to be gluten intolerant. There is loads research online. Have a good read. If you try a gluten free diet you will feel better with acid reflux and ibs these are both linked to gluten.
If your dr was trained before 2005 he will not be up to date with research. There isnt any medication for Gluten intolerance so it doesnt get into medical journals as they are written by pharmaceutical companies.
good luck xx

Wow they sound like great results! Love doctors should definately be sent training every so often as its so important what they do, the nurses are always so lovely but all I ever get from the doctors is "you dont eat enough" they dont even know what i eat as Ive never been made to do a food diary! Will give this a go and report back, thanks so much for info :) x
