Have just tried a sample of the retention+ and i have to say i was really surprised. The white was a lot brighter than NSI that i have been using, and i couldn't believe how well the product went on. building the apex was super easy and its true what you say files away with ease. Love it. Smile lines i have struggled with if a client wanted just a small free edge in acrylic (no problem with gel) but this went on no prob. I can't believe how well it performed for me. Has anyone else found this when they converted from NSI to cnd? On the phone tomorrow for a converstion course. Does anyone Know if Liza still does it in Sittingbourne? Can you do a conversion in a one 2 one?

Yes .. I should think everyone!!! :Yes Liza still teaches. Yes you can do a conversion 121.

Wait till you see how easy it is to file ... not concrete. Wait until you see how easy it is to PREP .. no primer or filing of the nail. Wait till you see how many fewer breakages you get. Wait until you see how it never ever yellows or goes dull. Wait until you see how your clients love you for using CND???

Now the real business of nails begins.

Geeg - please don't shoot me down for this........but...... do I take it that when preparing the nail for CND acrylic you don't have to remove the shine from the nail by a gentle file? :suprised:

I do not file the surface of the nail plate ... some ex-foliate it with a very soft buffer ... I just do a really good ScrubFresh with no buffing at all and I never use primer of any kind.

This is allot different to filing the nail plate surface and then having to use primer as well.

ONLY if I get a lifter who tells me do I ex-foliate the surface with a 240 Koala buffer. It is a last resort not the first thing I reach for.

Was that shooting you down?? I hope not. I do not usually shoot people down. If folks show respect to me they get it back.

Its silly how excited you can get over a product,But i am and i cant wait. I didn't realise i have been filing concrete until i just tried this. How easy is it going to be to do rebalances. It was one of the reasons i started gel because it was easier to file, Now im gonna have this. WHAT TOOK ME SO LONG TO TRY IT?

You need to gently remove the shine with a 240 grit (only a few strokes), but unlike other products you do not have to file the nail/etch the nail with a 150/180 grit. I believe this is what Gigi means...;)

You know what? Sometimes it is better to have experience with something else to appreciate the HUGE differences.

Often those who start with the best don't always appreciate it as they, like anyone else, have teething problems when learning .. not due to the product but due to their lack of experience.

In any case, I always say, THE CREAM ALWAYS RISES TO THE TOP!!! :D the better you get with your art, the better quality of product you want to use.

So you don't even have to buff the natural nail with this. Oh my god it just gets better. I cant stand filing the natural nail i have half decent nails myself the last thing i want to do is trash them. I never had anyone do my nails but me, Not even the girls i used to work with. around here everyone uses NSI and we have been using a 180 file.

I am so shocked! I thought I was sorted with acrylic as getting along well with the brand I am using, but can't believe this. I only remove the shine but it surely is so much kinder to the nail not having to file and apply primer. Thank you, Geeg.
By the way - the gel !?! you recommended (as in "try Shellac"). You weren't exaggerating, were you? Brilliant.:D

yep i've just changed to retention from nsi too, its so much easier to use and clients nails at rebalance are soooooo much better also. it took a bit of getting used with the ratio but i've cracked it now and i love it!

forgot to say get the little silver cnd dog bowl for your monomer its briiliant, much less liquid wastage

i also was sent a wee try me now kit and i loved it, i trained with NSI too and if i'm honest i find it can be quite "lifty" on some people! i didnt have that problem with the sample kit, i had my own set on for 3 weeks with not a single bit of lifting and my mum had hers on for 5 weeks with one infill! the infill was fab, no infill line which i hate! I also found that the white NSI acrylic set too quick and found it hard to get my smile line done before it had set, again i didnt have this prob with CND.

Im just waiting till my NSI stock is finished then gona start spending my hard earned cash on CND too, plan on doing the conversion course also, just wish i did that in the first place if im honest!

Queston for Geeg though - i have loads of mixed nsi clear with various glitters, could i still use this in zone 1 and then cnd in zones 2 & 3? otherwise id have loads of waste!

your right about NSI setting quick. Thats why i was having trouble with doing small free edges. Picked up small bead applied and could just about swipe my line in, Cnd picked up small bead placed and it stayed, crisp and white with quite a bit of play time. Sometimes my white with nsi looked abit on the thick side after applying then would have to file it thinner. If i applyed it thinner it didn't look white enough and sometimes patchy looking. On the phone this morning cnd here i come.
