Hi

Propably a dump question but . . .

I am currently training, which is a one year nail course, and I've been buying bits and bobs now for when I am qualified, so I can have the best products, instead the cheaper versions when I start out . . . Now my question is how long is the shelf life of an average CND nail polish? As I am only training, so I won't get through them too quickly. Should I wait and buy them when I am fully qualified so they are all brand new bottles?

Also I am a bit obcessive and want to buy ALL the colours and effects eventually!!! and of course they won't all get used up, as some colour won't be as popular, so how long should I keep them for before they need changing.

Thanks

Zoe

All CND polishes are thixotropic which means they have a long long long shelf life if you keep them out of sunlight and excessive heat. WEll thixotropic doesn't actually mean that but it means that as far as your question goes!!

Because the polishes are thixotripoc it means they do not go thick and do not to deteriorate through the solvents' evaporation. I've kept some colours for years and foundthem perfect when I have used them.

So ..... if you want some colours, rest assured they will last as long as you want them to.

Thank you, I can now carry on buying with confidence without worry!

While your reading this Gigi, do you know of any nail art courses you would recommend? I've been looking into for when I finish my course because I really love nail art, but most of the courses I see are far too short, and don't cover every aspect of nail art. I want to learn it properly and indepthover 6 months or a year, not just a 2 day coourse, but I can't find anything.

Any advise would be appreciated.

Thanks

I'd honestly say 'hold your horses' until you can produce nails worthy of adding nail art to them.

One of the things I see so often is new technicians trying to romp away with nail art (which will constitute very little of your business) before they can even do a decent nail enhancement. Many nail artists love nail art .. trouble is most of their clients don't! Or they don't want to pay for it.

When the time comes for you to get 'into it' then I can put you on to some great teachers. There are some companies that specialize in all the colours and 3D etc but to be honest you can create the nice simple designs that clients will pay for, with almost any brand of products you are using without having to buy into a completely different range.

ive had creative nail polishes since I opened 4 yrs and they're still perfect!

Wierdly I have a polish from the new CND range which despite being used prehaps 10 times has indeed gone very very thick.

It doesnt agitate to a nice consistancy and is currently unusable. It has had nothing added to it, not been used by anyone but me, not been left open. I have had it since September. Only used with CND base and top coats. It has been stored out of direct light, regulated tempreture etc.

Very strange, it sits along with all the other colours in the range and all the other polishes are perfect.

I have notified CND and it will be going back to them but does worry me
