Hiya all....can anyone tell me where to get decent relevantly cheap coloured acrylic powder (I say cheap cause it's only for practice!) and don't want to spend a lot of money...:)..also...I was playing about today with nails and was mixing glitter into my white powder to make the glitter tips....now....dunno where I am going wrong but I put in quite a lot of glitter to make the powder darker (if you know what I mean?) trying to get the effect of something like the 'boogie nights' powder...:green:...when I dipped my brush into the powder it didn't really form a ball and I couldn't get it to spread??..do you know what I mean?...am I being silly again??.......any advice would be great....x

I wouldn't think that you could add too much glitter as it will effect the powder ratio to the monimer, I think you can get cheaper glitter acrylics powders.if you shop around, thg:)

What about just buying yellow, blue, red and black from the product line that you are using? In this way you can mix up tons of colors yourself without compromising quality. If you buy other brands or cheaper powders you will have trouble if you will use them with your own liquid on the natural nail and the durability of the material will be completely off since each monomer is specially formulated to work with their own polymers.

If you want to mix in glitter yourself use glitter such as nailgraphix or any type of cosmetic grade glitter to avoid decoloration later on. if it doesn,t form a nice ball you probably added to much glitter

you can buy glitter from craft shops hun, that should do you for practice

I'm not sure on your price range hun,
But the Nsi technail kit is good for practising in my opinion,
And it is good value for money,
Plus you get the monomer too and a few other bits and bobs too,
You can find details on their website.

I wouldn't say it is the best of products for coloured work now I have tried others to compare, But it is perfectly suitable to use.
And not too expensive to worry about wasting on practicing...
A little go's a very long way with coloured powders I have found,

I also agree that nail graphix is the way to go for glitters if you are worried about mix ratio ...
But whenever I am adding glitters to powders I add a little at a time, testing the ratio and mix on a tip at regular intervals until I have it right.

Thanks girls.....need to do some searching...:) x
