ugh HOT STONE MASSAGE!! horrible horrible . i always feel so hot and sweaty after the massage. also pregnancy massage- so awkward twisting and turning your client.:cry:

Actually, I have a really awful confession to make......I did the Minx training course but found it all so boring that I won't even put it on my price list!My other beauty therapy friends think I'm mad to miss out on such a niche market but it bores the pants off me and I hate doing it.
Having said that, cannot wait to do the lash extension course that's coming up (runs around the room squealing with excitement!). Now that really floats my boat!

I hate hate hate Minx. I did training too, was fine with it, I do it maybe once every week/other week and thats fine, but I have to admit - I find myself upselling/cross selling other things - I offer them shellac, shellac with art, rockstar, gel overlay, crystal pedicure......most take me up on offer and ditch minx which I love.
So many people will disagree with me as Minx is fab (i know it is, it looks lovely on toes) but I would so much rather be sat painting something intricate or doing rockstar on someones toes than sat hunched over clipping, heating, clipping, more clipping and sticking minx on toes!
On a positive note, i love doing semi perm lashes. Love them. I love how happy people are with the results.
My baby is nails - fingernails. I love extensions of any kind, gel, L+P - I especially love when a client comes in wanting something "different and bright" and they let me do my thing as they have no idea what they want! I get such a kick from people leaving ecstatic esp when I see late rthey have put a wee piccie on facebook OR wrote to their friend how fabulous their nails are. Makes me very happy

I hate hate hate hate doing previous tech's infills when they have used gel and the clients what acrylic and the gel woont budge!!!!

Blimey Girls - if you want to get on in the world of the beauty industry you all need to get over your 'dislikes.' I have been in this industry 25 years, own a successful salon and you have to offer as many treatments as you can. If there is something you don't offer Mrs Blogs will soon step away. Its rare a client will go to different places to have different things done. Every treatment should be conducted mindfully and with 100% dedication. We have all been guilty of perhaps mind wandering during a massage or facial but 'singing to oneself' is a total disrespect!!! Theses ladies are paying your wages!!!!

I dread doing full body massage, especially on men! I'm not an energetic person, stick me in a sweat box, and expect me to massage a 15 stone man covered in hair!  Give me a set of nails any day, I'm in my element!!!

I just love my job 😍 I love everything I do from Nails to Beauty, what I hate is getting wax on my hands/fingers when it gets all sticky drives me mad ha ha! If I didn't enjoy any part of my job I wouldn't do it, because I think you have to put your heart & soul into it! My job is a passion 😊😊

I disagree. There's plenty of nail techs and nail only salons out there doing well. Just as there are salons out there that don't offer enhancements.

I think this thread goes to show that beauty therapists are only human and that nobody likes absolutely everything. It's good to let off a bit of steam and find out that many others feel the same way.
I would also point out that many professionals specialise in certain treatments only and also run successful businesses rather than being a jack of all trades.
Horses for courses.

Totally agree with this. We wouldnt be normal if we all liked doing the same treatments. I have done so many massages in my time and facials but i still love them. My hate is full leg/bikini wax in the summer!when's its so hot. Also when they havent had a wax for god no's how long and it takes ages.

Don't really hate doing anything really, but I do find eyelash extensions a bit on the tedious side. It takes me ages as I don't do many sets so not built my speed up. I get really fed up after an hour or so lol
We are, as has been said, all human and its not written anywhere that we should love every single treatment we do. I have days where I can't be bothered full stop, I just don't let on to my clients lol x

It happens in every job. Of course we can have those days. A LOT of people hate their jobs. We're lucky most of us like most of the work we do quite frankly.
My arms are aching and clicking all over the place after 4 days of massage. Of course I'm not going to like that! But I do like that my clients are happy

I used to hate manicures too but I've been doing so many lately that I've noticed the feeling of dread has finally gone when I see one booked in!! Get really nervous when I see an eyebrow wax booked in though after a disastrous one a few months ago!! X

LOVE underarm waxing!! could do it all day long!!
Also, starting to enjoy Hollywood waxing, once I calm down and relax into what i'm doing i'm fine, just get a bit nervous at first!!
Like pedicures, but end up in my little world, take my time and suddenly you look at the clock and it's been 1 1/2 hours!! luckily i'm mobile so if i take my time and do lots of foot massage the clients appreciate it!
Really dislike Eyelash Extensions, but think I attended a poor training course, didn't learn anything really, think if I retrained with someone like lashperfect i might grow to enjoy them.

Recently opened a nail bar and as much as I try I really am becoming to hate doing nails...... I find shellac really hard to do and it really freaks me out. We have gelish so may just stick to that which is not so bad. But Im not really enjoying it at all. Also hate indian head massage and minx nails.
We also have a beauty room and am training in other stuff like waxing, tinting, lash lift to see if I like that.
Am training to become a foot health practitioner and am sure I will really enjoy that when I am qualified.
Things I like - callus peel, cutting/filing nails and cuticle work (but no polish/shellac/gelish), Thai Foot massage
After reading this things dont bode well..... I seem to hate everything.....
