Cuticle Tool/Nail Tool Help????

Hi

i recently went for a manicure at a salon and they used a tool that was a curved shape a very thin spoon like thing and she seemed to be scraping it up my nail, i have never used one of these what is it and what does it do?
I know i might seem a bit stupid asking this.

Could it be a currette?? not sure of spelling lol, I have one in my kit and its fab to use.

You may mean a curette, it's used to remove the non living tissue off the nail plate.

It does the same job, cuticle tools come in all different shapes and size, I guess people use whatever they feel comfortable working with. I favour a chisel, whereas one of the girls I work with uses a curette.
