I've 3 sets of p&w to do tomorrow and have noticed that im almost out of attraction liquid (i use NSI)thought i have another bottle but nope i abviously got muddled!

Cant find no stockests in aberdeen but can buy a different liquid from salon services in the morning just to tide me over.

What i need to no is will this have any bad effects to the nails (using different make of L&P) that im doing tomorrow or wud it be ok?

Thanks in advance :)

It's not recommended at all to use a different brand of liquid and a different powder.

If their only pink and white's can you buy a pot of pink of the same brand as the liquid in your wholesalers.

Also..as well as it can harm the natural nail and can cause allergic reactions and alsorts of other things.. you won't be covered by your insurance if anything does go wrong.

Hope you manage to get it sorted.xx

Makes alot more sense that does!, thats what i'll do then, thanks

as most monomers are basically the same chemically, I can't see how your insurance would be void for mixing brands. Having said that, it isn't ideal to mix systems. You may not get reliable results.

It's really not a good idea to mix L&P brands like that. If you do get powder too make sure you know what nail prep is required (primer etc) and practice first!! It will feel different and have a different ratio.

Beautification

I don't think you've quite got your facts straight in your middle para. Mixing brands won't cause an allergic reaction any more or less than any other liquid and insurance won't be affected. The worst thing that can happen is serious service breakdown (maybe a bit of heat if it cures too quickly)

Unfortunately a lot of techs mix brands as they find a cheaper monomer, play around with it and find that it works. Not good practice and if there are any service issues their suppliers won't be able to help them

An emergency is an emergency and in an ideal world we would never run out of anything. However, we live in this imperfect, busy, real world and using a different monomer will not bring it to an end! I have been in this position and, although not happy about it, have used another brand monomer and it has been fine. Clients didn't lose fingers or any other horrible thing. The one piece of advice that I would give you though is not to mix Mercia monomer with anything else as it tends not to set and stays like rubber on the nails. Hilarious if your clients have a sense of humor but not great for future business if they don't!

I have found that Salon Systems is ok with most powders so if you have a Sally's nearby then this is what I would choose.

Of course you should get your usual as quickly as possible and return to normal. I hope this helps :)
