I'm about to book a Sienna X training course and am choosing between their two starter kits, can someone tell me if I really need to purchase an extractor as well as this bumps the price up alot?

Thanks

I use LA TAN and I definately need to get an extractor fan at some stage:Scared:When I wipe down surfaces in my room I notice a very thin layer of tan, when I blow my nose I have a brown residue come out. It's not something you can see until you wipe down with a damp cloth.I dont feel it's urgent at the moment but if I was doing several tans a day I would definately need to get one.

I must add that my gun is at the right setting and I have no problems with overspray on my clients,ie tan running etc.HTH

If you are planning to be salon based...I.E. in a small room, and doing quiet a few tans then yes you do.

If your mobile and visiting single customers (I dont mean that there not married:wink2:)and the room is quiet large and has a window for ventilation then no not immediately...if however you are planning to do spray tan parties in someones house...then definitely yes.

HTH

lol thankyou, think I may add that too my budget then as I already have some interested in a couple of parties

Hi

If your not using an extractor fan at the moment then you really should use face masks for your own health!

I took this extract from the government health and safety site:

Respiration – The airborne particles will affect the breathing of employees and clients. The spray tan booth controls this risk well, however other factors need to be considered for the spray gun.
You must ensure that there is sufficient mechanical ventilation, that is ducted externally and that the ventilation contains a suitable filter. Employees must wear a suitable mask when using a spray gun (contact your supplier for recommend masks).
Clients and employees with known respiratory problems such as asthma should not undertake the process. If employees notice shortness in breath or tightening of the chest, they should stop undertaking treatments

This is advice for someone using a booth with extraction and as your not using extraction at all please please take the small precaution of a mask!

PS some Vaseline in your nostrils helps too!
