Evening Geeks,

Im just sat here thinking about what else i can do with gaining more clients for my mobile business. Ive done some leaflet drops and my CND price list is in 3 newsagent shop windows at the moment plus in may im going to be in a local village magazine which comes through peoples door thats £25 for a couple of issues. Also i asked 4 hairdresser salons if i could leave some of my price lists on their reception desks and they were fine with that.

So far Ive done one client already, she was nice and had a manicure and a pedicure, then ive got my second client on monday who wants a full set of L&P. Maybe im expecting too much. I keep thinking whys the phone so quiet! I just need to get on with it and wait i suppose.

love from charl xx:Grope:

hi hun

it sounds like you are doing plenty of marketing so that is great. it has taken me 18 months to really build up a business and its been hard at times but worth it.

alot of the business i now get is word of mouth so when you do get a client maybe give them a couple of spare price lists to pass onto friends and family.

do a search above to find out plenty of marketing tips but remember it does take time hun, which i know can be very frustrating

we recommand our ppl to consider 2 years before having their own clients and be working fine. so yeah good luck, and keep on promoting yourself, that's the best you can do for now

thanks guys, i'll just have to remain confident and patient then. God, just to think i might start having quite a good client base by the end of NEXT YEAR makes me feel ill!!!! Oh well, you guys have proved to me if you stick with it you'll eventually gain some clients. For now ill just keep on at my advertising.

xx

I didn''t want to make you feel ill!! just aware that it is a long process!

as it's been discussed in another thread, always have your nails perfect... the craziest you wear, the more it^ll be noticed, and you're asked *who did them* you say *I did* you have a client more.

Hi there have you tryed going to your local shopping center with business cards or price lists yet? I done this walked into the shops and asked if I could leave some of my price lists for the staff to look at. I found this worked better for me as they all said yes they would put them in there staff rooms and I got a few call from it. And it didnt cost me anything just a little time.
hope this helpsxxx

i could try that method actually. There are some nice shops near me that i could walk in and leave some price lists im sure. Ive just remembered my daughters nursery i might try there.

you sound like you done loads of things so far, try all local nuserys, toddler groups, any groups or community centre, weigh in clinics, where woman meet. bingo halls, hairdressers. schools some time do newsletters (worth an ask). fire stations, police, local council offices worked well theres loads of people in there. oh army or navy camps.

hope thats given you some inspiration or help

good luck hun

p.s. i want to start working from home but just havent got the funds or courage just yet, so be proud of yourself
PMA : positive mental attitude!!!

It is a long process, but if you just stay positive and keep your nails looking tip top and always have business cards in ALL jacket pockets, some in your purse and bag, so if anyone is interested or asks who done yours, you can just give them a card. I have always found this to be useful.

My main way to attract clients has been through a very small advert in the yellow pages and my website, oh and word of mouth, but before word of mouth, my website attracted the most clients as they could see examples of work and nails.

Keep at it hun, it takes hard work and time, but its worth it when it gets there. If these things happened over night would we really appreciate what we have?? Plus, everyone would be doing it.:)

Hiya,

I cant seem to do my own nails though, i have to get someone else to do them for me!!! how terrible is that! im all cackhanded.

ive read a couple of threads here and everyone is saying just 'make sure u keep your nails looking nice' but my nails arent my work. lol

xx:)

Thing i have found, i used to hate doing mine, but if you can persevere and do your wrong hand, then the good one is easier. Then you know if you can do your own nails, then anyone else's will be so easy.

Your nails will be what people look at Hun. Lets face it, if you go into a hairdressers and the person who was about to cut your hair had an awful hair cut, would you worry about it?

It is hard when starting out, so maybe you should try and do your own nails, even if they are simple and elegant as long as they are neat.

ok. i'll have a go at doing my own.

Just a quick question what are alot of nail technicians doing to their own nails nowadays? Does it matter what we do as long as they are nice? I just have pink and white tips.
xx

For me i find the more put there they are for me the better.

All my clients used to be very reserved with their nails and mainly stuck with permanent white french. Since i always have colored french of some description, virtually all of them try colours now.

It does depend on what you want to do, but as long as you have neat, classy looking nails, then that is fine.

My nails at the moment:

oh my god, there is no way i could get my nails looking like that even if i tried.
It looks like a lot of work has gone into doing those nails!!

just 3 hours lol.

but it's a choice I make. as I often read, I wouldn't have my nails done by someone who has nasty/bitten nails.

Do you have your nails, with the flowers on full time. If so how doyou work. They are beautiful though.

oooh yes I do!! in my av it's another that I had last week, I change every week, keep them that long or longer...

I trained with long nails, so I adapted everything, the way I hold my file/brush/e-file when I use it... meaning I can't work when they're shorter!

and thanx
