Hi Gals and Guys, if I want to use a particular spray tan product do I have to be trained by the company before they will supply me the liquids? I have a friend who tans at the moment and she can show me how to do it, will that be OK. I'm really trying to save pennies as I'm broke.

No you don't have to be trained by a company to use their products but some insurance providers will require a certificate of training before they will insure you to practice this!

You have to be insured to spray tan a member of the public and charge them for it so you would need accredited training from which ever company you chose to train with,
your friend offering to show you is very kind but if she can not supply you with a recognised certificate then you leave your self open to been sued by any clients that you treat,
all it takes is to spill some solution on their carpet and they will run straight to a solicitor hth

Hi Eileen,
whatever you do please do not enter the profession without adequate training..which provides then appropriate insurance.

It is very kind of your friend ...but being shown how to do it is not the same as accredited training.
In this industry we rely on and depend on professionally trained operators maintaining the highest standards and in so doing retain good will in the industry.

If you search around you can obtain certified training from as little as £50-100.

If things are tight I would still recommend you wait until you can afford to do things properly and with the appropriate training behind you the chances of success are far greater

OK I get it I will get trained properly. From others I have talked to I am going to initially look at tantric, there seems to be a load of people out there doing it and I think that is a good sign. I am going to find someone whop does it and just book in and see what I think.

Hi Eileen,
well done ..your doing the right thing going for proper training before going commercial..it will undoubtedly make you a better technician and consequentially your business successfully.

take your time in getting started..its far better to prepare well than it is to rush into things.
Good luck though with your search for a suitable company to go with:hug:
