I was asked by a client about gel toes.Is there much call for them?Sounds a bit of a nightmere getting the feet under the light to cure them.Or is there a easy & simple way to do it.?

You put the lamp on the floor, or is that not what you meant ?

I use Brisa and in the summer I get LOADS of people wanting gel on their toes. I don't extend, just overlay and I don't do as many layers as I would on fingers so it's pretty quick and easy. As I have the Brisa lamp I find that feet fit in perfectly, I don't know what lamp you are using but if it's big enough you shouldn't have a problem.

I only offer french at the moment but I think that I would do even more if I offered coloured gel. They last really well so fantastic for holidays.

You can get a whole hand under my lamp.So a foot would fit fine.So when doing a french is it ok,to paint on the white with polish. Then when its dry do the gel overlay.Feet are not my favourite part of the body to touch.Agh!

You need a white gel (CND's Brisa has a white gel polish) - normal nail polish will bubble and crack under gel.

Im totally interested in this.......

Do you do a pedicure beforehand? I dont like stinky feet (or feet in fact in general) How do you prepare the foot? I wont be doing pedicures as I dont have the space and that suits me too as I already mentioned my mild revulsion at seeing someone elses baby toe... urgghh... but I do know I have got to get over this as its popular.......

What are your step by steps without a pedicure?

So you are using same lamp for feet and hands?
I personally never mix my UV lights or supplies .I have two UV lights at my nail station for hands and separate one on my pedi-pal ,for toes. Also my brushes, cuticle pusher, files, gels etc.are separate for hands and feet.Even my e-file and bits.
It looks more professional and clients appreciate the fact that their hands will not go in the same light as someones feet.

And I do a loads of gel toes, all year round. They are quick, easy and generate great income.

Gel toes are in huge demand in the summer, it alows clients to have a lasting french, shine or polish even when they wear sandals, flip-flops or go to the beach (and the sand can be very harsh on regular polish). They last very, long up to 4-5 weeks before they need to be retouched and they are very simple and easy to do.
Currently i use Brisa so here is what i do:
- Sanitise with cool blue
- Push back cuticles and scrape any adhering to the nail
- Shape nails
(these steps can be skipped if a pedicure was done in advance)
- I remove shine from the nails
- Whipe with nail fresh and apply liquid bond
- Apply a thin polish like layer of gel (clear, pink or warm) - Cure 2 min
If doing french - I apply white to all 5 nail without paying much atention to the shape of the white, and then wipe the excess off - Cure 2 min
- Apply the top gloss to 5 nails - Cure 4 min

I usually do 1 foot at a time because the steps are very fast and there is not enought time to alternate feet.
Doing the 2 feet takes aprox. 30-40 min.

Great advise,i am going to grab my daughter later and have a go.:)

thanks Prionace

that is exactly what I needed to encourage me to give itn a go.. now I need to find a victim for the first go!!!

how much do you charge for this service? i do pink and white acrylics on toes..but i've never tried gels..

Gel nails are very popular in the summer. I put the lamp on the floor. As for the hygiene thing with using the same lamp for hands and feet, I just use an antiseptic wipe after feet have been in it. Actually, it's only the TOES that go in, not the whole foot lol!
