Hi,

Our new apprentice has been with us about 5 weeks and she has been off sick 3 days this week, she normally gets £95 pwk, would I pay her her normal wage or would I deduct the sick days from this?
Just wondered what others do?
Thanks x

I'm not sure on this but if your ill dont you give away the first 3 days anyway so you wouldnt pay it but like i said not sure .. Is there a web site you can check out .

Hi Hun,
I am no help really, but I do know you don't get the 1st 3 days of sick leave paid.
I would think it will need to be deducted.
Some very clever Geek will come up with the answer......Just wait and see.
Lotsa luv x x x  x x x

yup, deduct the three days. Stat sick pay only begins AFTER the first four days unpaid sick leave. Apprentices are no different and there is no rule that you must pay sick pay outside of ssp.
