Hi guys,
Firstly sorry for the long post!!
Just looking for some advice and your opinions on this....I have a client who has had electrolysis on her chin for a long time, she has seen a massive improvement and now only has 5-10 minutes a session once a week. Lately she has had to cancle a lot of appiontments because her skin becomes red and she gets spots and says she feels she would be unable to allow people to touch it. I have asked her to come in so i can observe the skin but she has never done this, I saw her yesterday and asked questions like what she was applying to the skin and she said tea tree oil!!! i always give out aftercare slips to clients and tell them not to apply anything to the skin for 48 hours after the treatment and to aviod touching the skin! I also think she touches the area a lot after the treatment. I took the current down to 20 for 1.5 seconds as this was the lowest working point I could find to get the hairs out. I use a gold needle and we use the sterex sxb machine, I use short wave diathermy on this client (she has had it between 22 and 33 in the past!) I also reminded her not to apply anything to the area and gave her a sterex aftercare gel and told her to keep applying that so fingers crossed this time!
I wonder if the tea tree and touching the area is causing the reddness and spots?? Also do you think allowing more time between treatments would help??
Please Help and thanks for advance for any replys!! xx
