Hi guys, I just wanted to give you a quick update.
The printed magazines arrived here Tuesday and look fab. My only criticism is the cover needs to be a bit thicker for my personal taste. 32 pages feels a bit thin and a thicker cover would help. We showed it around locally and the response has been great - one tech made the comment that she likes the size and ease to get to each article rather than wading through tons of adverts as in some bigger beauty magazines.
We had a good starting response and will start to post out late next week. There's a minor delay because....
....we decided to now include a DVD! Each issue will come with a DVD containing two bonus step-by-step video designs. It won't cost much for us to provide this but it will add value to the magazine.
I should just mention again, that subscribers will also be able to watch video's that we will put behind a password on the magazine website. Sometimes it will be very difficult to describe a complex design step using only text - so we will record it and you can watch it being done. These steps have a video camera symbol next to them in the magazine. Also - all step-by-steps are colour coded depending on the skill level required : Basic, Medium, Advanced.
And one more surprise! An electronic version !
I've been looking around and have found a way to distribute the magazine electronically. This means we can email the magazine (when the new website is up you can download it) and it can be read on the PC (or Mac). The main issue for me with this was how to stop the magazine being copied and sent all around the internet, but I found a tool (which wasn't cheap) that allows us to disable printing and will only allow the magazine to load on the paying customers PC.
This lower price means that people can take a look at what we offer without paying for the printed magazine. Most I expect will then want to upgrade to the printed version. But others, and especially tech's all over the world who are hurting from the economic crises will now have the chance to develop their skills for a much lower price. Note - we don't provide the DVD or online videos with the electronic version.
I have also added a Not So Frequently Asked Questions page to the website - http://www.imaginailtion.com/faq.html
The main website again is http://www.imaginailtion.com
We've got sun here today! Yippee!
All the best,
Bob
