I am considering doing an essential nails training course on acrylics, so I bought the books and dvd to get a taster......I cant find anything about putting tips on bitten nails but they ask you to do a full hand including a bitten nail ........ not really sure now whether to do this course because of this.............disappointing......am I the only one dealing with bitten nails:sad:

i'd love to see these dvd's, so i can comment after seeing them

I guess in some ways that's part of the diffrence beetween a DVD and a flesh & blood teacher ....
You can ask them both questions and for demos but only one can answer ! :)

To do bitten nails really well you need skill and experience and an educated eye ... bitten nails are not something I recommend any beginner to tackle ... it's just silly ... like expecting a Dr. straight out of training to perform Brain Surgery ...

I think it is kind of a silly reason to be disappointed myself. If you want info re doing bitten nails, we have tutorials right here on the Salon Geek for you to read.

I personally never teach beginners to do bitten nails and I recommend that they don't touch them for 6 months after training and gaining the necessary skills.

To be honest, the 'biters' nail on the EN course is nothing like a biters nail. It hasnt got any bulbous or chewed skin or any real nail biter attributes. Its a plastic nail on a plastic hand, slightly smaller than the others!

I would say, if you are dissapointed with the dvd now, save you money and spend it on a quality classroom based training course. Afterall, there is nothing else to the course, just the dvd and the book! Once you add the cost of the course to the maintenance course and the extra plastic nails you'll need to buy to complete the required ammount of nails, it doesnt work out any cheaper.

Good luck finding something to suit you xxxx
