massive show, 2 days there is better than one, if you want to see everything and not rush round! travel lodge have got a 29 pound deal on a couple of hotels near excel. x
I booked in at Custom house with AboutRooms.com It cost me £200 for me and my model B&B x
I am an Excell virgin and crappin my load lol !!!
So.... if you want to join our gang feel free. I am staying longer as I am going to Scratchers (Kirsty Lunds) Geek meet on the Tuesday xxxxx
Travel lodge works well, me and hubby use them a lot for our weekends away:hug: the more in advance the booking the cheaper the rooms, wear flat comfy shoes and bring a case with wheels to put everything in.
Paul and I bring lunch with us, we have something special along with a bottle of wine oh and this year Scratchers has made a badge that you can print of and wear so that other geeks will say hello.
Excel is my fav show, good parking and a free bus from the car park to the halls.
Sonia and I are going to be there on the Sunday - we'll travel down to London on the Saturday and travel back home on Sunday evening. We went to Excel last back in 2005 - when we stayed at the Premier Travel Inn at Beckton, a couple of miles or so away. That was in the days when they had the "Warpaint" make-up exhibition as part of it, which was of most interest to us.
This year we are going to just have a general look around, and I also want to see what's out there in terms of salon IT systems, as I'm hoping to design one myself in the future.
I know a lot of geeks are going to be at Excel on Sunday. Is it worth arranging a 'mini' geek meet for those of us that cannot be there for the 'offical' one on Tuesday?

I will be staying until tues, but I'm with my family & they are off round town on the Sunday to let me do the show one my own!
i'm going on the monday - hopefully won't be as busy as the sunday!!
last year i drove and the parking was extortionate!! was about £9 for 3 hrs!! this year i'm taking public transport.....although means going in the height of rush hour - i do that a lot anyway so never mind!
