Hi everyone
I am currently studying for my NVQ2 exam and we have been given a practice test paper to fill in and revise from - everything was going really well until...

I was asked these 2 questions:
firstly, state 3 reasons (each) why eyelash tinting and perming may not have taken. I have answered, it may not have been left on long enough (for both) wrong colour used (for tinting) and wrong rod size (for perming), product may have expired (used this for perming, can i use this for tinting too?) I have looked through every book I own, been on the internet for hours and cannot come up with another answer - has anyone got any suggestions

My second question was: what are the tinting times for Red, Grey and White hair...in my book it said for Red and Grey 15 minutes (to be cautious I put 10-15 mins) but no sign of a timing for White I presume its the same, am I right?

I'm sorry this post is so long, but am a bit desparate! if you know where I can find the answers on the internet or in a book please let me know - Ive been using City and Guilds Beauty therapy level 2

For another answer to why a tint/perm may not have taken.Think of the steps you do before the tint and why you do them.Do you ask them if they have any mascara on for instance ;) and what sort of questions do you ask in your consultation and why

thank you for replying - I think I had just got into panic mode last night....!

product may have expired (used this for perming, can i use this for tinting too?)

Yes, [the developer for] eyelash tint also contains hydrogen peroxide, which degrades over time into water and oxygen (thus becoming less effective) - particularly if exposed to sunlight and heat.
