Hi peeps,

I had an ingrown nail years ago when i was about 12, my mother brought me to a Chiropodist a few times and he recommended that she bring me to have my toenail removed which was done twice (very painful) but it just reoccured so they had to remove the nail permanantly by the root, they left a small stip of nail down the centre. I am left now with the uglist Big toe on the planet!! I am wondering if any of you have come across this with a client before and if any of you have any ideas i.e. Can you apply an acrylic or gel nail if there isnt a lot of nail there? I have tried just the normal false toe nails when i have went on holiday before and they lasted two days at most, alway popping off. Any suggestions for me?

I fix the appearance of toe nails like this all the time and call it toe nail reconstruction,
the nail can be built back up with acrylic,
make sure you have it done by a nail professional who knows how to do this and is not just guessing,
at a minimum it should last 6 weeks but most of my clients get 3 months from them,
so i only see them twice a year during summer

Brilliant thanks at least now i know there is a solution, ye are great!! Now just have to find someone in Dublin who can do it for me!! Im doing my own nail course when i get the money together and then maybe some day i can do it for myself!!

Cheers dears

If you contact Creative Nail Design in UK they will be able to give the contact details of the master nail techs in your area,
or you could ask them if they have an educator in Ireland as she would be able to do it for you safely

hth

It is quite a common thing, big toe nail reconstruction. I do this quite often, I prefer gel in my method, but that's just personal preference.

I hope you can find a tech who can do it for you, I think Mrs O is the CND Ireland person you need to contact for CND Master techs in your area. xxx
