Fiberglass nails

Just wondering if anyone uses nail wraps and put's gel polish over them? Also do you buff out the nails to a smooth finish before applying gel polish and do you use a basecoat?

I buff smooth then apply base coat before gel polish or i find it peels xx

I stopped using fibreglass quite a few years ago but I did apply gel polish over the top, after buffing them smooth and applying the base coat of the gel polish I was using.
