I cried at the end of book 1 too :D

Pinkfairy, like I said to Lolly and Happyfeet, keep with it. It's not greatly written but you'll get sucked into the story and then won't even notice. I'd say for me, it was a good few chapters in before I started to really enjoy it, probably about half way even and then I wanted to keep reading and couldn't put it down, so keep going :wink2:

IMO anyway, the last few chapters of Book 1 and then Books 2 and 3 were the best

I cried too!!
Nearlm finished book two and I think its much much better than book one!! The story is so much more in depth and It's more about the character's than all the sex!

Hoping I still have the 3rd book to read when I'm on holiday Wednesday, trying to slow myself down but I can't stop reading haha xx

When you get to around Chapter 9 or 10 on the first book, I think you'll start to be more intrigued ;) and if the sex side of things gets on your nerves, it calms down a bit in book 2

Ok I've just downloaded the book this morning on my phone and im only on chapter two but I love Mr grey already! 'beautifully manicured hand.' haha!

I downloaded the first book onto my Kindle last night and am already half way through (a day ill off work has helped with that though!). My god its a bit raunchy!! I heard they are planning to make a film of it, how the hell would that ever get released, even with an 18 certificate????!!!

I've got to admit its not my normal type of read but i cant put it down, I'm completely in love with Mr Grey!

Iv ordered my copy, just waiting for it to arrive now! eeekkk! excited !

Oh my goodness what a pile of rubbish. Seriously!! I love books, and have a kindle to satisfy my book obsession. I was expecting big things. Everyone is in a daze over this, and quite literally obsessed. So I was expecting amazing things.

I was enjoying it until chapter 6. And if I read the words 'oh my' again I might actually explode! :grr: lol. I will read to the end...but I am very disappointed.

If I saw Mr Grey...he would be subjected to a few strong words and a glass of water thrown over him.

BUT...this is just my opinion. This trilogy hasn't reached 4 million for no good reason. So it is obviously amazing for the vaste majority of the population.

I say give it a go...it's not expensive to buy on the Kindle...(£2.99 ish) and £3.98 in tesco...buy 2 for £7).

I was expecting romance. Obviously steamy romance...but for romance to feature strongly in the storyline.

I do not regard a contractual sex slave agreement as romantic. And if I saw Mr Grey...he would be subjected to a few strong words and a glass of water thrown over him.

As I've said throughout this thread, you need to read the whole trilogy before you make up your mind. I felt the same when I first started reading it. It's not everyone's cup of tea but most people, once they have read the complete trilogy, have changed their minds about it. Just sayin :D

I now can't sing this song without singing these words!!

Ooooo...now I have to admit...I did not read all of the pages...as there were just so many...:o

So it gets better? I shall persevere and see how it goes. :)

Please be mindful in what you write not to ruin the books for anyone who has not yet started to read them.

I understand how you feel at this stage of the story but surely knowing there is so much more to come in books 2 & 3 you realise that things will evolve and that there is a story that runs through all 3 books that you can't understand until you have read them all.

The books are not all that well written and this has been stated many times throughout this thread but if you just get into the story and ignore the repeated statements then you will get hooked to the story and the writer makes you go through many changes of heart, you will feel many different things at many different parts of the story and how you feel right now will not be how you feel in several chapters time.

I promise you will change your mind about several things if you give the books a chance.

Mmmm...so I'm a bit ancient, but no prude.

I've resisted Grey books so far, though, having read a few pages on Amazon. I think the style, or lack of -(don't shoot me!)- will irritate me.
I don't mind wasting a few quid but I do mind wasting my precious reading time.

So, a challenge to fans. Should I Grey or should I go?

Fair point...I have edited out the bits that would give anything away. Im going to keep going and give it more of a chance.x
