Hi there was just after some advice after a client I did yesterday.

She is due to get married on Saturday and I done nail extensions on herself and her sister, and a pedicure on both.

Today the bride phoned to say she d chipped one of her nails,I explained to her I would normally charge a call out fee as Im mobile but as she was getting married and felt that I couldnt really say no as it was for her wedding ,and charge her my call out fee, reason being it was within my 10 miles radius, and I felt it was a good earner in the first place so it didt really bother me.

Just wondered how any body else would have handled this just so I know in future, would you still charge or was I too soft?

If your policy is to charge then probably you should have and I know a lot of answers will be just that... I would most likely have done the same thing having made decent money in the first place - she will remember that you put yourself out for her and you may just have a very loyal client that will use all your services - if this turns out to be the case then a ten min journey could have gained you much more in the long run

I'm sure some will say you should have charged her but i would have done the same as you. It was a good earner and a bit of good will can go a long way especially as you wouln't want all the guests at the wedding seeing her chipped nail x

Thankyou for your replies both, I think I probly did the right thing ,I dont think the bride will come to me in the near future as she actually lives in London, but her sister lives locally , so you never know, and like you say Wendy I would hate the thought of her attending to her wedding with a chipped nail.

So I think what I ll do in future if a bride just books for one set of extensions I will pre warn her on the phone I will charge a call out fee if she breaks one before the day, on the other hand if its a booking worth my while, I will go out of my way for them if need be. ;)
