This is my first try at a stiletto. Have been inspired after going to the Premier in Orlando :D I think I am still off on the apex placement. I used glitters and mylar so the bits that look like air bubbles are more than likely mylar or confettyi. Any constructive criticism is appreciated as that is the only way I will learn. Thanks in advance.

Ok, so for your 1st attempt - great work!

I would suggest to you, looking at the pic in your album that you really need to bring the sides right in in the zone 2 area as the nail looks fat in the area. This will also make the nail more sleeker and look longer.
This is wearable length for this nail, imo, as I wear this style of nail alot.

As for the apex placement, it's a little far forwards, but no much. You could address this on this nail by angling your file at 45 degrees and filing back up the nail from the free edge, then reducing the bulk of it more on the top of it, whilst at the same time, bringing in the side walls more to reduce the width in the area of zone 2
That would give a much sleeker look over all.

Good work for your 1st stiletto attempt:D

i totally agree with bev,the nail does look abit fat in zone 2 to which bev has given great advice on how to correct it but otherwise i think its a good nail.

Hope I don't sound completely thick now but zone 2 being right around the smile line in this case right? Not where I would normally have zone 2? I still find zones on a stiletto really confusing. I sort of like the stilettos but how can you get anything done? I am struggling with just my pinky being like this. Major drawback when typing :D

regdardless of how long you are sculpting/tipping a french style of nail (in this case stiletto), zone 2 is always the area of the smile line -even though it is not your 'natural' smile line on your own natural nail, it is on the enhancment, so yes, at the area of the smile line is where I meant.

Also, if you knew how many times I have to re-read my posts when typing, you'd also know how difficult they are to deal with lol! However, you do get used to them :)
