Hi all! Salon Geek newbie here. :green:

I've always used my Brisa or IBD UV gel polish for French white, as it's usually much quicker for rebalancings. I'm curious, if I were to do a traditional gel P&W (using white builder gels on tips) on a natural nail overlay, using either the Brisa or IBD systems, what methods for rebalancing and re-aligning the smile lines would be best? Are there any videos or tutorials that address this?

Thanks!

Hi, Could you not look back through your training notes/manual ,as id of thought that this should have been covered on both the CND and IBD training courses you did.
If you dont have the notes to hand ,their is a tutorial section on here that might be of help, if you click on the navigation bar at the top of the page, then click on the tutorial section and have a look in there .hths

Thanks for the advice, ladies. I have to confess that I unfortunately don't have any training manuals to refer back to. I am a former tech :o from back in the day before gels were around (at least in the US), and I only did it part-time to supplement my income during college. I worked in a small shop and was the only tech. All my clients were cute little old ladies who liked basic manicures and I had a few acrylic clients.

I switched from acrylics to gels a couple of years ago and love the results. My natural nails are so healthy and the look of the overlay enhancement is so natural and long lasting.

My current "clients" are myself and a few friends who absolutely refuse to let me give up doing their gel nails, because they say they can't get the same quality results at the salons. I even started charging them, thinking that would drive them to the salons (and free up my time), but that hasn't stopped them from coming back. I use both the Brisa and IBD systems -- I find that IBD has a nicer range of color of the gel polish for the friends that just like the colored overlay.

But back to my original question... With the Brisa system I've usually used the bright white gel polish for French overlays. It looks very natural, but of course, to get a more opaque look one would want to use the white gel. Since I don't use, and refuse to use drill files, and only hand file, I wonder if I might find rebalancing this traditional P&W a bit difficult.

Sorry to ramble on.
