hi when i did my training i got a pack of natural full well tips, and on my nsi dvd the lady cut the well off then there was no blending to be done, i tried this last night on my trainer hand and i thought it was ok, is this acceptable to do this ?

Absolutely. This is the correct way to do it. The more Acrylic applied directly to the nail rather than tip the better as the acrylic will mould perfectly to the shape of the nail, the tip will be forced, possibly with air bubbles trapped beneith it. Remember - the tip is only there acting as a platform to build the nail on, all the strength is in the acrylic. Also remember - the least filing you do on the natural nail the better as well, you only want to remove the shine not any layers of the nail.

Oh brilliant, thought this may have been wrong, and it is so much easier lol x

what tips are you using? I personally use CND Velocity, they are not full well tips but i still pre-tailor them so i only have the tiniest contact area.

The ones i was using are Nailite ( fron carlton institute), and have bought some cute well less white lace tips from pro impressions. Although i am doing an Entity conversion 8th oct so i will have about 100 tips from them with the conversion x

not tried entity, but ive heard they are good. Im CND which i would highly recommend. Good luck though, Hope you enjoy it x

it is fine for you to do this with the nail tips.the idea is you then place it directly on the natural smile line so there is no visible seam to blend.
i use cnd performance tips which are already well less and need no blending and i cant tell you they are a good send as they have made my life so much easier as im sure they have for many other techs.
pro imppressions also do well less tips in natural which i have tried and they were fab.xx

Thank you, glad it is what i was supposed to do, altough when i use gel with tips like this i still seem to get a slight ridge, perhaps not putting as much gel on as i should maybe ?

yes i would think thats what it is.
how do you apply your gel?
as there are many ways to help make it easier to build up the apex etc... its just finding what suits you.sometimes i use different methods for this depending on my clients nails and if i find it hard to build up the apex.xx

I love the pro impression well less tips, you shouldnt have a ridge at all, sounds like you need to be using little more gel hun. Just make sure you taper the free edge after to give a nice natural looking tip...xx

will try, thanks hun, getting to grips with the training hand now x
