Hello! Help please!
I have done my moms nails with acrylic, P&W....so when it was ready for a fill she wanted glitter on the white part of her tips the french part......so I did the fill like I would a Back fill and put Gel this time(YN) down on the lowered part of the white tip and dipped her tip in the glitter (thought it would be easiest)then cured it (all 10 fingers) then put a layer of get on top to even out the fill lines, cured, filed and put a finish gel on...they looked great but the gel tip poped off...3 of them like just the glitter part..the acrylic white is still there, the gel is still on the nail bed area...but the glitter is whats popping off, is it that the gel cured to the glitter and not the acrylic? Do I need to prime the acrylic before putting the gel down or use the base gel! Maby thats it hahah the base gel!..? Any help please.........or suggestions?

I am thinking that if the glitter was dense then the UV light wouldn't have been able to penetrate it and so wouldn't have cured the gel.

What grit file did you use to file the L&P with, do you know what surface your brand of gel needs to get good adhesion?

Also are you 100% sure that the area was free from dust and oils?

i think hope is probably correct. this certainly seems to be the most likely problem.

one other thing to consider is how smooth the nails were below the gel, it needs a fairly rough surface [180 grit] to grip to.

I used a E-file with a sanding bit to take down the white, then swiped it with YN swipe.....she's my mom so she's willing to experiment...but It's annoying because I do all of co-workers nails and it looks bad...lol
But I tried a dif. way I put gel down cure then another layer then dip it, and it still poped off so maby I'll use a hand file 180, but then I'll be hard to file just the smile like because it is lower then the nail bed...? hmmmm Iduno?

i rekon its more likely to be undercuring. what colour glitter did you put on, some of the darker colours need a lot longer in the lamp.

Do E-file bits have different grits?

Could you not E-file the smile and then just give it a quick swipe or two with the file after?

i see you use young nails.
try using the finish gel and then dipping the nails in glitter. cure and then go over with the regular gel to build up.

i do this with another brand of gel but find it works well on cases of glitter colours that are tough to cure.

Thanks! I use a med. sanding bit? they don't really have # I guess (not that I know of) But the glitter is translucent, well it's called Orange Smoothie from Lechat. Thats why I Diped it with the gel because it's color is so fine, If I had mixed it in the acrylic I might not have gotten the same color? Maby I could just glue down the glitter and then overlay it....but then that would be defeating the purpose of why it does not work.....
