Hi all.i have been looking at how to add another service to my salon,to go with childrens, prom partys.I found that glitter body art is going to be at the beauty show in manchester.Has any had a go or use these products?

Is that the name of the company, "Glitter Body Art"? I haven't heard of them, but I have heard of people doing glitter temporary tattoos...

Hi yes

Ah cool now I see... so it looks as though that particular company is specialising in glitter tattoos and all materials required to do them, so could be useful as a "one stop shop" for people wanting to set up to do glitter tattoos.

However it may also be worth pricing up the individual items from other suppliers to see how they compare, e.g. body glitter (make sure it's OK for use on skin, as craft glitter can be sharp and can scratch the surface of the eye if you get it in your eyes, whereas body glitter is normally made from polyester and doesn't scratch the eye), body glue (I've heard of a brand called Telesis Beta Bond which is used medically but is meant to be excellent for sticking on glitter tattoos), stencils, etc.

Great,i will look into that one. Thanks

Hi

I bought a starter kit from GLITTER TATTOOS | GLITTER BODYART STENCILS & SUPPLIES, TATTOOS, GLITTER TATTOO KITS, STENCILS.. and have found it to be excellent.

It comes complete with instructions and everything i needed to get started. I bought it because I thought it would be a nice addition to my girls pamper parties.

When I tried it out on a group of 6 teenage girls, I demonstrated one and then they all went about applying to each other. They loved it.

I also liked the range of stencils that came with my kit. (I bought the one that comes in a cute case) aswell as the range of colours.

The glitters are not scratchy and I found that they stayed on for a little while if you follow the aftercare which is provided in the kit.

I love them and the delivery was really quick too. I found that they were really good on price as I had compared them with other companies.

I use them and find them brilliant, the little girls love them:) I bougt more stencils from them yesterday in Manchester too

I bought the small kit to try out on my kids and they all love it.
For those of you planning to use them at kids parties or as a sideline etc. How much would you charge per tattoo? I'm thinking of school Christmas fayres and fundraisers.

hello everyone,
i have just ordered the small kit, i can't wait to try out on my girls and me of course ha ha. for those who use these what prices do you charge for one glitter tattoo.

p.s let you know how i get on with these got a feeling they are going to be pretty good xx

I've bought from here and the service is great.

With costing, it is difficult to know what people are prepared to pay. Do remember that the costs are relatively high if you are using stencils as you can only use them once. Freehand is cheaper.

Brill link hun! Can you use these stencils again? xxx

If you are careful and just using them on yourself then you can use the stencils a couple of times.

If you are using the stencils on public then I would only use them the once and then bin them.

No, they should only be used once for obvious hygenic reasons.

Edited to add:
Sorry, obviously if you're using them on yourself or your kids then it's entirely up to you, but if you are offering them as a service then they should only be used once.

Thank you for your reply hun. I just wondered as I have just ordered my little boy the Liverpool football stencil (obviously not with the glitter, he would kill me ha ha) and it would be nice to get a few uses out of it. I'll make sure I am careful when applying it to the edges then.
Thank you hun  xxx

You can do a face painting course. Look on the ITEC website hun.
I was told it was fine to do as long as you hold a make-up qualification.
I am just checking now with my insurance company, so will let you know the outcome xxx

Carron - you don't have to have any kind of certificate for insurance with Towergate.
