Going back to college !?!?!

Well after doing my Sienna training a few years ago, i have decided to go and do Beauty Therapy at college!!!!

Just wondering if anyone could give me advice? I feel like am too old to be there as it was all young girls at the interview! Not heard back yet should hear this week!

I am soooooo nervous! Hope i get in!!!

Any advice will help me lots!

don't worry, I went back to college 2 years ago for an extra skill, and was old enough to be some of the students grandfather, you will be surprised there could even be some mature students retraining. I found I was treated as one of the class and in fact, the students would ask me for advice about working in industry. Age was not the problem, a lot of the time there were conversations going on while the lecturer was talking. I may sound a grumpy old man but I'm not. Go for it!

I will be doing my sienna training soon, I cant wait!!

I will be doing spray tans from home and also mobile. I would like to go back to college to study beauty therapy but I work full time, and there are not many evening courses going on around here. Instead, I plan to train at the london beauty academy, the offer one/two day courses and are also available at weekends. Once the courses, I will recieve a beauty academy diploma, which is a insurable qualification and suitable for mobile therapists!

I have gone back to college to do my NVQ 3 in Beauty Therapy and I'm a Nan too!!! It was very daunting at first but I've settled and the younger girls are great. I think you get a little more respect if you're going a little grey around the gills!!!

Good for you! The advise I would give you is...get all your assignments done as soon as you get them. Be prepared to study and practice at home and get some models lined up. Then you cant go wrong. Your never too old to be anywhere!!!! xxx

I am c30 years older than the rest of my fellow students on L3 Beauty. I am treated just as one of the gals. The youngsters are great and treat me just like everyone else.

Go for it - you'll feel younger too!

There are a few older girls in my course, its not really a big deal, everyone gets along with everyone!

Thanks guys, still no letter. I done my Sienna traning a few years ago, work at Uni serving food and coffee, tanning at night, So with the support of my partner am heading back to study! God if i get in!!!!

This will hopefully lead to me becoming mobile and offering more services, then maybe one day a shop for me! lol
