OMG could have died tonight, i had a man in for basic waxing, back, chest, shoulders and nasal wax. I have waxed him quite a few times but never used the jet set for nasal waxing. Everything went brill, but then he had a major nose bleed. The blood seamed to be coming from the front of his nasal passage rather than the back. Surely this is not normel:cry::cry:xx

It is certainly not normal Jenny ... where did you put the wax? Was it on the outer edge of the nostril only? You didn't tap his nose by accident did you? Nostrils are very sensitive. But you only ever put the wax on the outer edge with the nostril lightly pressed in so that the wax does not go up into the nasal cavity.. is this what you did flower?

The wax hun was only on the outer edge, i have been doing them for a while how kim showed me straight up over the top of the nose, kims tecknique was very presise so not to cause trauma. Never had any problems before, the only thing i have changed is my wax, as need to use up what i have in my pot that i used to try I nearly died:cry::cry::cry:

Umm... well it certainly wouldnt have been the wax... I would write in big letters on his record card.... DO NOT WAX NOSTRILS... lol!!! Bless him x:hug:

That was what i thought. Because one nostril was fine no problem other he just bled. Only thing i can think of is he has been using clippers to tidy his nasal hairs and wonder if he had cought him self and there was a small scab or something. Can not think what else it could be, unless a little blood vessel broke. Ahhh not good,

Well that sounds very feasible. Don't worry about Jenny... it sounds like you did everything right.

Takes courage to be a wax technician. Things happen. We make mistakes and then we work on humans, so there are endless variations of things that can go wrong. I made my biggest mistake 25 years in, and all other mistakes along the way, and always in front of a crowd. It didn't matter what wax you used, if you pulled it out wrong, you just did. If you didn't pull it out wrong, then his nose doesn't want to be waxed!

Thankfully these odd things don't happen very often, but they are very scary when they do. Most important thing to realize is it is part of the exposure curve when you are working on all kinds of people and body parts. Keep the faith and wax another nose asap. get back on that horse.

The biggest mistake that I see made when students wax noses is that they get scared and hesitate and then half pull which is not good.

I taught you with Euroblonde and I've never used my Escential Rose which is very similar to Jet Set . I'll try a nostril wax with my E R this week and see if there's any difference.

Just make sure that you let the wax set, grab it......then pull it straight out, whilst pinching their nose. You did it fine on your training so it won't be your technique that was wrong. Don't worry about it. Things happen and blood from the nose always looks worse than it is.
