are you a hairdresser ?

i would really recomennd you go to a salon which has a colouring specialist , am sure they will sort you out x

Hi,
nice pictures , and what a beautiful child ,
I would say your hairdresser is right you are between a 5- 6 ,
the problem of going orangey afterwards may be eliminated by asking your hairdresser about a quasi colour / semi demi permanent , :)

why u trying to colour your hair would be a good starting question, had u previously lightened it and are trying to get it back to your natural colour? are u going grey? i mean we kinbda need to know that before we can advise on tones etc, but like said above, your best bet is going to a salon and seekin prffesional advise, try and get a test piece done first so they can show u the colour. . x

@scottydolly
yeah i got 10-15% greys
nd its really annoying

nd thanks minky

and its been 1 yr nd i tried many salons
many stated my color as light brown
ash brown
golden brown
bt ntn worked
those 3-4 colors i defined earlier are part of this year's struggle

if u cnt tell the color cn u plz tell the level?

Hi, I would place you on the level 5, the problem is I am looking the pictures and as good as they are, they don't tell the whole truth.
But I tell you what I see from them

I think that you have couple of tones going on your hair. Nobodys hair is completely flat and I can see both ash and golden tones in your hair. This could be the influence of lighting inthe pics.
If I was you and your hairdresser, I would suggest dual coloring; Base color with cold color like ash and then toning low lights with T-section to break the blue with coppery color. The problem is, who ever does it for you, has to know what they are doing because otherwise you will end up with wild purple on your hair.
personally, I would place the foild on the T-section and then do the full head as normal all at the same time and you should get a good result.
the only true estimate could be done bu the hairdresser in the good light where there is no influence of any other lighting, so you really need to go to the credited colorist.

Please keep us posted

in reply to the comment above, BLACK? ARE YOU MAD? his hair is at least 5 shades lighter than black. . . i think his best bet ios as said a few comments above, get a relativly flat base of 5/0 and if it were me i would do incredibly fine high and lowlights, one with a slightly warm colour and one slightly cool, because as said above it is very rare to see natural hair allll one colour and tone, it is the mixture of tones that makes natural hair so hard to mimic exactly. . x

just to clear summin up, i am not reffering to nora, a comment was underneath hers and i was reffering to that, but since i posted my comment it has since been removed along with another post about hair colour posted by the same person, the comment read "black i think black would suit" so i commented under it sayin HELL NO, and then the comment was removed, so just to clear that up hahah xx

@ scottydolly
thanks a lott!!!
nd abt tht black i already had a horror story
wen sumone said the same thing tht my hairs r black
i died it with level 2 black i guess
nd it was a disaster
it was soo dark nd i zapped tht color the next morning :p

btw if u r telling em to go for a 5.0 level base color
it has 2 be cool(ash) or warm?

and is there any possibility tht my hair color is level 6 dark blonde?

no your natural hair would not be a 6 . i think the tint has lifted unintentionally maybe by the sun , swimming or too higher peroxide lvl what % are you using?

The thing is, every hairdresser places your color into the similar range, like above someon saying that you are dark blonde 6, I would say still that to me you are light brown. It really does depends the light and like I said above, the only way to do the exact estimate is to walk into to the salon and talk to the credited colorist. They will hand mix your color and mark it to their cards, so when you go back if you are happy you will get the same root treatment you had before.
I know it is tempting and cheaper to buy the color by your self and just do it, but it sounds to me that you already have had so many disasters and you have been unhappy with it so many times so it sounds like it would pay to go to the professional. At least this way you know you will have someone to blame if it all goes wrong. You can ask them to do a test strand for you to see prior to coloring, so you would see the exact color and how it is going to be on your hair. And to be honest, a professional colorist have no problems of doing that as they understand your worries.
You see the problem is, when I am assessing the pics again, some of them look to me almost coppery, but I do realise that this is lighting, and then some of them look really ash, but again, lighting might have some influence on this one. In the salon, you should be able to get as close as possible, because the lighting there is the same and very close to the natural.
Just do your research of the salons with a little bit of time, ask around and then go to talk to them and see what they could do for you. At the end of the day, you are paying for the service, so make them work for your payment.
I hope you the best of luck and please keep us posted.

Hi liana kay, totally agree :)
this is what I was getting to in my first post ,
thats why I suggested a quasi / demi semi , which as you know has a much lower peroxide level but will still cover the grey

I myself have the exact same colour hair,
and I use a quasi in 4/0
it is perhaps a little darker than my natural colour but it covers my 25/30 per cent grey and doesnt turn orangey in the sun swimming,

thanks one and all for replying

i believe my hairs r cool hair color(not warm)
nd its crazy if i define my hairs as dark brown with blonde undertone :p
bt thts a description of sumone who dnt know much :p
nd i say tht coz wen i see my facial hairs or the roots tht cum out they got tht tint or undertone as u say in sunlight or agnst the lite in room
bt over all they look pretty much dark in the room light
and i agree those pics r lil confusing
i found sum less res pics last nite
maybe they can help a bit or increase the confusion
they are all r room pics

nd sorry 4 my weird description :p

Hi , yes you are right its perfectly possible to have a cool natural dark ash blonde within your hair tones which make up your natural hair colour ,
no one ever has just one natural colour alone ,

a good guide is to study your eyebrows and perhaps try to go for a colour similar to what they are ,
my eyesight isnt all that great so I cannot see exactly what colour they are,

but I think your hair could be naturally a bit lighter than your eyebrows,
so if decided to have a few lighter bits like nora says ash tones would be better for you,

Your eyebrows look like very fine hair though , and quite a good shape , :)

hi there,

I would say at looking at your pictures naturally you would be about a level 5, but because you have had your hair coloured a few times with different levels of colours and tones in them, that the colour on there now has probably faded and may look like a level 6 base , over time with using heat on your hair (or if you dont) even going in the sun, and if you swim etc the coloured bits of your hair will fade so it wont match up to your natural level base.

I myself am around a level 6 naturaly but when I put a colour on my hair even If I try and get it as close as I can to my natural colour I can never quite match it because I blowdry my hair use straigteners and even though I take care of my hair with the right products over time the ends of my hair fade.

the best advice I can give you for now would be to get it trimmed regularly, and if you are looking to cover X amount of grey why not try using a semi permanent or quasi dye, the quasi dyes can give a better coverage of grey hair and some give your hair a really nice shine too , or why not when you go back to your h/d ask if they can do some test pieces and you can pick a few different colours on your hair to be tested and see which comes out best for you.

Remember colour is translucent, so any colour you add will look a certain way, depending on what lies beneath.

If you want to neutralise it, you will have to use the opposite tone. What tone is currently on your hair? Reddish? golden? ash?

Also remember tint wont lift tint, so potentially your going darker the more you colour it.

Send me a message, I might be able to advise you.
