I'm switching to hard/hot wax but not sure what brand to choose. I know loads of them specialise in Brazilian waxes but I want one that does a good hard wax for large areas like legs too.

Dispite what some may say, there's no such thing as "the best wax" only the best wax for you. And the only way you are going to find that is by trying different ones yourself.

Lycon, Outback Organics Gold, Perron Rigot and Berins are a good place to start.

A good hard wax can be used all over the body and you don't need specific ones for different areas.

I use OO Gold. Both them and Perron Rigot will send out samples. Not sure about other brands tho.

Thanks will get in touch with them. I thought only certain hot wax could be used in larger patches. Do you have to do relatively small strips?

That may be the case with some of the older generation of waxes or some of the brands I'm not familiar with but the newer ones I mentioned can be used wider. Width of strip depends very much on body area being treated rather than brand used as far as I'm concerned. Spatula width strips on intimate and delicate areas but I have used OO Gold 2-3 inches wide on chests, backs, shoulders, arms and legs. Mini spatua width on eyebrows.

I agree that there are several really good waxes but each one has subtle differences so you are best to try several of them before you settle for one.

I also agree with the waxes named above but would add Adam and Eve waxes to that list as well and they will send you samples of their hot waxes if you request them. :wink2:

Can you tell me if it's fine to train with one company who use a particular wax, eg, Lycon, but use a different one once trained? Is it a matter of preference of, if I get a diploma with one company in basic and intimate waxing, can I use a different wax once qualified if I prefer it? Thanks in advance to anyone who takes the time to reply.

Yes that's fine.
Often many therapists train with a trainer or a company who may use a particular brand and then as they get more experienced they try out other products or brands to see what suits their needs best.

Good luck

Use whichever wax you like. I think that some companies insist that you do their training to use their wax though so check them out.

Thanks for the advice. Really helpful.
