hey sorry for all these different threads if the same people are reading them all! lol

i was wondering if any 1 has done any nail training at michelle porter training academy in nottingham?

im quite unsure what to go with either pinks or michelle porter or try something else.......give me your info people!

Between the two chuck I would go to Pinks, the training is excellent (although I didnt do my nail training there)

I see alot of Michelle Porters demos etc when I train or demo in Capital but I have to say I am not impressed, I as also totally alarmed to see Michelle Porter sells a gallon of a product called

"Michelle Porter - Nail Steriliser"

if Michelle Porter believe nails gets sterilised I am not overly sure I would fancy being trained with them!!

lol, i knew Lee would have something to say on this one!!

Im unsure if the product itself is bad, but i am led to believe the training isnt the best. You can always ask for a demo though so you can see yourself!

hey thanks for the replies!

im just unsure what to do as i want to be trained up in everything eg...acrylic,gel,fibre & silk plus airbrushing etc

but i need training close to me as i live in grantham and have to be back home the same day due to looking after my doggy *that sounds so sad!* lol

i was going to go for a home learn course with en but then i thought maybe i would be better off just paying out and do a classroom course but only if its near me....do any of you know any other training that is available around the areas of nottingham and lincoln?

Hmmm I would strongly think about this thoroughly, break it up into the sections you want to learn the most and then re search on here the highly recommended companies. I would strongly recommend CND and am sure if you call sweet squared they will tell you your nearest educator.

Education is very important, I strongly advise you to go for the best rather than compromise on who is the closest geographically......what often happens (and we see it time and time again on salongeek) is people chose companies for the wrong reasons and therefore often end up not getting the best training and end up taking twice as long to train spending twice as much money as they end up re doing it !!

Better to make wise choices to begin with I would say honey....

Hi

I have done training at Pinks which was excellent, but also closer to you at South Notts college based at the Bingham centre. They do some excellent courses there, spread out over 8-10 weeks so you get more practice.

Check out their courses as well as Pinks.

I did my initial training with Michelle Porter, it was ok, not especially inspiring... did my conversion to CND and never looked back:lol:

thanks girlies!

the closest cnd training to me is leeds and thats such a way from me.

ill have abit more of a look into pinks and mp but pinks offer a NVQ in nails which seems really good and worth doing rather than the babtac
