Hi everyone, I am currently doing my NVQ 2 at college. We are starting assessments now, and had the first two which I passed last week (full set of acrylics and full set of gels) which I am confident at (almost!lol) However, I am struggling with infills. I dont seem to get anywhere by asking my tutors at college :irked: At first, I was blending right next to where the lifted line was, but by doing this, the whole lot just seemed to move closer and closer to the free edge, and I thought, If I keepo doing this, the whole lot will just file off. So, asking my tutor, she said I shouldnt file next to the lifted area, but start at the free edge and slowly file away and it will gradually come away. So, I tried this in the shop, but it didnt work!! Well, it did work a very little bit, but then the white started going patchy and shadowy where I was filing (even though i was trying hard not to hit the white area too much). I hope this makes sense, its hard to write it into words!I just wondered if anybody has some advice which will help me through the infills?
Many thanks :)

Grab yourself a copy of Gigis' book Nailclass everything is explained in plain english with pictures.

The trick when it comes to lifting on infills is to file just above where the lifting is-on the acrylic that is well and truely still attached to the nail bed. This way the lifted area will simply 'pop' off, filing on the lifted area will simply cause the the lift to rise up the nail bed and ull be filing forever.
