So what is your actual question? Why do you have dips?
If so it is because you are painting with your gel instead of building with it.

If all you do is paint over an uneven surface, the surface will always be uneven. You still have to build over the stress point for strength and for smoothness .. no different with gel or wraps or L&P ... it is the same for all.

Hi sarah
You have to build up more with the gel to smooth the ridges out. On the dvd did it show you how to string gel over the nail to make a strong apex ( this also fills in the dips )?

When I did the course they did a wetting layer then a thicker layer cure, then again a wetting layer but this time pick up a ball of gel push it down lightly about 2mm from the base of the nail lift your brush and float the gel towards the tip.

Do this on either side of the nail then again down the centre.
You can turn the hand over and let graviety pull the gel into a good shape before you cure if you need too, make sure to check its not too thick at the tip then cure.

Refine if you need to. Done ! hth x

iv done the course but iv not set up yet, but i think you might be applying it to thin, why dont you buff the shine off, prep with calguard, and do gel again just have a play with it :green:

I think i must have been painting it on  I buffed them down last night and applied more, trying to concentrate on where the dips were and trying not to pull to much over the rest of the nail, still have a few dips where on other nails it has a lovely shape lol I will rewatch the dvd and try again :) also i used cnd performance tips not the full contact ones in the pack could this make a difference? oh also for got to say it a colour not a french  xx

I use pro impression well less tips with calgel and Le Chat without a prob. If you dont build the with a good strong apex they wont last though! Wouldnt make any differance if it colour or clear.
I was too tight with the gel in the begining but it didnt do me any favors!
Try the building method and see how you get on.
The trainings good they'll iron out any probs.
