I think you should check with insurance companies first to see if they will cover you for nails, I'm sure this came up a while ago, but I have the worst memory in the world.
Also, now this is just me, but I know had I not had a tutor standing next to me I would never have got the hang of it. I didn't train at collage, I trained with Creative, my course was one evening a week covered all the theory, all the practical including re balance came with a bril kit and my cert says its a cert of competence not just attendance, that's not a dig at peeps who have done home learning courses by the way its just something to look out for with all training centers.
Some so called training courses don't teach anything like what they should and at the end all you have is the cert of attendance and again insurance companies do pick up on that.
I spent 6 months researching, different companies in this part of England,(you're not that far from me) And found a lot of the companies very lacking in what they covered.
However:green: Sweet squared (creative) are worth every penny. There's also NSI and Ezflow You phone them direct to find a local trainer and Angel fingers trains for LeChat. All of them should be able to work out a course that will fit around your comitments and give you the confidence to sell your skills.
Hope this helps.

If home learn is the route you want to take hun then i highly recommend Essentail nails. I have done the Gel and the maintenance course and im half way through the acrylic course. I would do a search on the uk open learning one as i have heard bad things about it.

With essential nails you CAN get insurance. HTH

I would've loved to go to college or to be trained with a reputable company, but I am in a situation whereas I can't do that, so I had to look down the home study route. I found this forum in the process, and was recommended Essential Nails, I can't fault it so far. Before i signed up for it, I checked about insurance, and the Guild and another (can't remember the name sorry) both will insure on this certificate. HTH

Your profile says you are a nail geek, I assume nails were included in your beauty therapy training? If so you should be able to attend a conversion (I am sure other geeks will confirm if this is right).
The conversion is a 1 day course and there are a lot of very good deals going around at the moment. I am attending one on 11th March with EzFlow and it was an offer I just couldn't refuse.
I don't like Essential Nails but that is just my opinion as I did the L&P sculpt course and did well but I just didn't think it was value for money and although support is only a call away, I felt I needed to be in a hands on environment where I can show my tutor my nails and get advice there and then.

I think that even for the busiest of people that a 1 day course can be slotted into your week.

Good luck with it x
