This is probably a really silly question. I obvioulsy didn't clean my brush correctly when I last used it and it has a bit of acrylic stuck in it making it a little hard. Can I use acetone to clean it? Or will I need to get a new brush?

I had a problem a little while ago and was advised to wash my brush in hot water with shampoo then let it dry out completely. I had to wash it a few times mine had gone kinky. If you do a search on brushes you are sure to find more suggestions to resolve your problem.

:)

It is best to soak it in your monomer.
If it easiest to put your dappen dish full of clean monomer in the bottom of a glass jar. Use a peg to grip your brush and balance it on the edge of the jar ensuring that the tip of the brush is not touching the bottom.
Leave it to soak overnight and you should be able to gently tease it out in the morning.
Good luck:)

Washing does help in some situations but wouldn't get a lump of acrylic out :)

Let it soak in monomer over night, and do a search, tonnes of peeps have given their "bobs" the kiss of life :D

This has happened to me in the past
i put a big blob of blue tack on the wall and stick my brush to it, while it is soaking in my dappen dish full of monomer iykwim
24hrs usually does the trick

Creative. I used monymer and it worked, didn't read my notes properly! Whoops x

The best thing I have found is "Brush Cleaner" from Ezflow. It is in a little bottle and you just dip your brush in for 1-2 mins and hey presto brush clean. It has conditioners in so your brush dosnt get damaged but you do have to do a couple of trial beads after as the first couple set rather fast but after that its fine. It really is amazing !!!!:green:
