I really want to train up to be a nail technician and eventually become mobile!
I had a look round for the best and most suitable courses for me. I work full time so im quite interested in doing a home study course with "the nail trainer". Does any one know if this course is worth doing?I really dont want to pay all that money on something thats no good.has anyone else become a technician through a home learning course? if you disagree please could you advise me what are the best nail companies to go with?
Any other tips for my future career would be great!! Its all very new to me!!
Thankyou!!

Hi there, a home learn course is just a starting block, i did a home learn course and then spent alot more money as the home learn didn't even scratch the surface iykwim, you would be better of contacting sweet squared, ezflow, young nails or nsi for info on courses you could do with them, they are far more indepth and teach you a hec of alot more.
I hope this helps you, Jo.Xxx:hug:

Hi Marissa,
Personally I would advise against a distance learning course as I enrolled on one (although not the one your are looking at) and to be honest it was a waste of money. I have since done a 2 day course with Pinks Academy which was really good for learning the basics and not too expensive either. However, I wouldn't say that that was enough to start working professionally so I am saving up to do the CND (creative nails) conversion course (can't wait!!) as I have heard some really great reviews about them. It's also worth bearing in mind that simply completing a course does not make you a nail technician, it also requires hours and hours of practice (as i am finding out).

Hope that helps and good luck with whatever you choose to do.

Hi I originally thought about doing a home learn course, but after reading lots on here decided to do the foundation course with cnd. I have done the first 3 days and go back for the last 2 in October, and very quickly realised I would have really struggled if i had chosen to do the home course, I learnt so much on those first 3 days my brain hurt lol! If you can get the money together (and to be honest it doesn't work out much more expensive in the long run) I would definetly recommend actually going on a course where you have someone with the expertise to show you things in person. Plus you learn all the theory aswell (again learnt tons of things I didn't already know about prep and loads of other stuff) :green:
